• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Trip to Tunnel of Trees

Well, here are some photos from our Spyder trip to the northwestern side of the lower peninsula of Michigan. We camped at Mackinaw city which is right at the tip of the mitten and then we rode down the western coastline for an absolutely beautiful ride with Lake Michigan at it's finest. It is not quite tourist season yet so it was hard to find a lot to do and places to eat. But it seems that when you do find something it turns out to be a diamond in the rough. If everything had been open we probably never would have found this little dinner called the Bridgeview diner. It is all a 1950's kind of theme and the owner/chef/waitress/hostess/entertainment was really great. I will try to get video posted in the next few days, but in the mean time here are a few of the still shots I got. Brian has more on his camera that he can add to the thread as well.

Here is a little video from the diner we ate at in the first photos in this thread. I am currently working on the ride video through the tunnel, that video should be posted within the hour.

Here is video of the beginning of The Tunnel of Trees. The camera is a little wavey because I don't think this camera is really meant to be mounted this way. Also, if you are offended by Christian music, do not watch. It is just that the scenery is so beautiful, it is a real gift of God. So anyway here is Brian riding on his spyder, enjoy. I love the bridge - walked it a few times - great thing to do if you can do it (5 mile span plus 1 mile each side). It moves far more than you realize when driving across- you can really feel it when you walk it.. I have photos of the bridge 1/2 built from when my parents were on their honeymoon. Such an amazing structure. Going to ride across it this summer on a trip over to MN.

Tunnel of trees is a great ride - fall is the best time for a color tour - but with all the leaf coverage - I wouldn't want to do it on 2 wheels again!

One more for anyone that likes to watch ride videos

Beautiful

Great job, Deb! The music is very nice as well. Thanks for sharing. I wish I could have been there - and I would have if I had not been teaching the motorcycle course that weekend. Oh well, there will be other events and we will ride together again soon, I'm sure.
Best regards,
Bruce

I used to listen to a little Ozzy (Randy Rhoads era) but ACDC is like nails on a chalkboard to me. :gaah:
You would appreciate this then Brian. A while ago, a friend of ours suggested we all go to an AC/DC concert when they were scheduled to play here in London. Gail got a horrified look on her face and said, "Are you kidding? Stick a fork in my eye!" I don't think she is a fan either. :D

This past year + has been my 'retro' rock concert year:

Saw:

AC/DC (twice)
Rush (twice)
Police
Tom Petty
Van Halen
Bob Seger
Eric Clapton
Robert Cray
Buddy Guy
Styx
Santana
Dropkick Murphys

Probably missing a few--- hard to remember them all.

This years schedule is a bit lighter for me:

Aerosmith
ZZ Top
Metallica
AC/DC
Dropkick Murphys
Tommy Emmanuel
Old 97's
