Strange leak has returned while Spyder has been in winter storage.

I noticed a strange leak has appeared under my spyder while it has been sitting or a few weeks. All fuels were good when I ran it last. The liquid does not have a smell and does not appear to have any color. The Spyder is under a cover and in the far corner of our carport so no snow or rain can get on it. It is a 2014 Can Am Spyder ST Limited. Once the roads clear up and it gets a bit warmer I am going to take it to my dealer, but, I was just wondering what the heck it is and if anyone had this issue. The spot got a little bigger since this picture was taken, but, appears to have stopped for now. This happened once before and it was a loose bracket on a hose had to be tightened, but, that looks good. The leak is on the right side (throttle side) just behind the front wheel.

Is it antifreeze? That would be right below the coolant tank.

This is exactly what happened to mine, same place - right front wheel. At first it was colorless then it did have a faint color. It was antifreeze. There was a loose hose clamp. I put a white plastic lid under it to catch any drips and that's when I could see the color. I hope this is the same for you!

Mine was leaking there as well, there is one screw type hose clamp on that side or it could be the coolant tank. You should be able to see the bottom of the coolant tank from underneath.

Thanks for the responses. I had this happen during the summer and it was the hose clamp. It was tightened pretty good but I will check it again. As soon as the temperature gets to where it's a little bearable to check. Come on Spring.

Don't over tighten that clamp. It will deform the hose and the connection.

Agreed! Not that I've ever used a torque wrench on one but for those narrow clamps the spec is something like 50in/lbs. Less for wider clamps. Fairly easy to over tighten and either damage the hose or create leaks crushing it to much.

I'd bet your leak is going to be the water pump shaft weep hole....but you'll have to dig into it to be sure.

Mine just happened, and it is in the garage for weeks.

I have had a leak since I purchased the RT in 2013 and dealer did tighten a clamp on the hose from the water pump some time ago, however whenever the OT gets down to below 25*F I still find a few drops in the pan. (It is easier to collect and take a sample to the Dealer) I have had it at the dealer a few more times however their overnight storage is inside a heated space whereas my garage is not so of course the dealer can only say "Unfounded". I did hear that the pump has a weep hole, must be there for something. I have only added 6 oz. or so of anti freeze since new and now have a little over 11,000 miles, maybe on the 14,000 check they'll find discoloration from the leak.

My 2014 RT would leak like that when ever it got below 25*F also
I finally found the hoses with the narrow clamps would leak when it was really cold and would stop once the bike warmed up.
I replaced all the clamps with the wider screw type clamps and it has not leaked a drop since

14,000 mile service coming up soon, changing clamps is on my list

I would think that it would be coolant. Your best bet would be to get a white paper towel or a white piece of paper and soak up some of that liquid to see the true color its too hard to tell the color on the cement. JMHO
