• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Swaybar questions

Have decided to get a swaybar for my new F3.
The questions are:
a. do I need the links as sold by Lamonster with the Bajaron swaybar or just the bar?
b. am reasonably adept at wrenching, is this a DIY install and what will I need to do it other than tools?
c. what am I forgetting to ask?
'preciate the input

BajaRon has a kit that includes new upgraded end links. I would def pull the trigger for the new end links as they will for sure be rated to work with the stiffer bar.

As for install, it is fairly straight forward and the hardest part is getting the beast high enough in the air to allow wrangling the bar out and in again! IIRC correctly you will need around 22in of height from the frame where the bar is installed to the ground....

Well....

I would change the links as well. Not that much more and certainly better with the stronger swaybar. I think BajaRon just sell them all together.
As to needs....the biggest thing is a way to get the thing high enough to remove the bar. Not sure on yours but older ones were no problem newer models need like two feet....

I recommend the Bajaron sway bar and links. Have your dealer install it and everything totalled roughly $400. Best accessory to date.

thanks for the get backs
How would I raise it high enough?
Can make ramps, but not 2 feet tall.
Have a floor jack and jack stands
Chock the rear wheel for sure.
Possible?

RT

if you know somebody that has an RT sway bar sitting in their closet, get that one.... you'll need the spacers that come with the RT bar also....
as for doing it yourself, one very important question: CAN YOU GET YOUR F3 FRONT WHEELS SAFELY OFF THE FLOOR BY 24 INCHES....?
if not, DON'T DO IT.....
the RT bar is a gr8 upgrade, and i would recommend it to all F3 riders... this should be OEM in my opinion....
as for 'links', no, the OEM links will do just fine...

I did it on my F3 with a floor jack and stands, Dave. Chock the rear wheel, jack the front up to max, stands under, lower jack and add some solid timber or similar to your jack, jack up higher and lift stands to support. Loosen/remove all your bolts etc while it is supported by the jack and stands. Unfortunately, you may have to jack it a bit higher to slip out the old sway bay and slip the new one in with just the jack supporting it, but that should be ok as long as your stands are at their maximum in case of jack collapse. Lower back down to your wheel stands and bolt it together.

thanks Pete
where should the jack be placed?
under the metal cross member looking piece?

Yep, Dave. I put my jack as far forward as I could on the cross member. I also put a support under the rear wheel as it still lifts even if you have the jack far forward on the cross member. Pete.

Before you pile stuff up on your jack check around your garage to see if your jack came with extensions. The yellow Craftsman jack comes with them.
