Have any of you ever been to Tahiti?

Yes I have. The resort’s are nice but the rest of the island is full of lazy tahisons. The Chinese do the work and the government takes care of the Tahitian people.
The beaches are black and hot and you will sunburn quickly. All and all it is interesting and enjoyable.

We have family in Hawaii on the big Island in Hilo, we go there every other year for 2 weeks
also hit the other islands a bunch.... also have been to just about every island in the Caribbean,
I do love St. John...just looking for some place warm.... got any ideas ?

Yes,did a cargo passenger cruise to all the island in tahiti ,lot of money and it was nice but not Great,Costa Rico is far less money and a lot more fun,so is bocas del toro panama

Was in Tahiti for 2 weeks on a shoot a few months ago with WSL. It's definitely a different pace and its NOT Hawaii. Amazing surf spots, great diving/swimming with whales (legally) and lots of hiking. Locals are all super friendly, a bit pricey because of the CFP Franc and exchange rate, but pretty much everywhere takes USD. A bunch of different little islands that are all a plane or ferry ride away with lots to explore. Some of the clearest water I've ever seen because pretty much every island is a reef break and then its all flat water straight to the beaches.

We were in both Panama and Costa Rica in Feb. 2019 the weather was great love them both. just want some place new to us.
but it has to be nice weather .... I HATE WINTER even here in California

Bali High is actually on the sister island Morrea (I know that's not how its spelled but I can't defeat the autocorrect). If you go try to sched side trip to Rangiroa It was awesome then....

True, lots of islands to visit there too, if you stay along the coast. Also plenty of inexpensive boat tours. Good food and friendly people.

I spent a year in Thailand way back when I was a 20 year old buck..... My only regret was not extending for an additional year when I had the chance.
