• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tattle-tale

Several different Ski-doo snowmobiles (since the Rev XP came out) have had an interesting feature in the display. There was a screen you could get to that will tell you the top speed that the sled has reached. We call it "The Tattle-Tale", and I have not shown my wife how to find it. My question is, Does the spyder have such a thing?

Just sayin'............

I don't think so

I'm not sure how useful that would be on a Spyder. Mabe law enforcement would find it useful in the event of ones death on a Spyder. I know cars have a black box that can give information to law enforcement in the event of a severe crash. I'm not sure if the Spyder has that.

We know BUDS captures the highest RPM. Don't think it records which gear it was in when recorded? If it does, it's time to roll out the excuses..... like :shemademe_smilie::spyder:

I did get a speeding ticket a mile down the road after my wife told me I was driving our, then new, truck "like a grandma". She couldn't blame that one on me.

Spyder Speed Tales

The 2011 RTL SE-5 speedo read out has a feature on the trip meters. A speed average feature. While I find it interesting I have yet to figure out a useful application for it.

If you use the pause feature it will provide you with your trip average speed. At least that's my most common use of it.

Average speed question...

Do you really have to Pause the meter for that? I would hope it automatically pauses when the key is turned off. Does it?

Then the use of Pause would be for something like this: while recording a long trip you want to make a little side-trip not included in the long trip. Pause for the side-trip and Resume for the long trip. You would then have the Average for the long trip only.

Anybody know?

I think the pause is intended to stop the clock. Otherwise the clock keeps ticking when the spyder is shut down.

EDIT: (wrong thinking - see missouriboy's post #14)

Now, someone will come along and tell me I have it all wrong :roflblack::roflblack: would be nothing new about that :roflblack:

EDIT: (got this part right - lol)

As Anal-retentive as I am ; I've never been able to find a useful purpose for that "pause" feature... :dontknow: After three years; I figure that I can continue to enjoy my blissful ignorance! ;)

I think there's one SL member whose engine went south, And BUD;s recorded an 11k rpm So they won't warranty it. Some how it seems his went though the rev limiter.
NOT Saying he did this but there are ways to over ride the limiter, I know i bumped my T/G from 55 hundred to 65 hundred.

The Stage One kit includes the "stuff" to get you those extra rpm; doesn't it?

You bet, The T/G 103 is the first engine i ever had that hits full power at 35 hundred. So i got tired of smacking into the rev limiter 20 feet off my driveway. This way i don't have to hurry up to shift into second.

Just a thought but any of you who are using a garmin, the garmin has highest speed features in its trip summary
:ohyea::clap::yikes:

Nope. I just checked, and key-off stops the trip clocks. I cleared Trip A yesterday when I fueled up, and this morning it still shows 10 minutes. So my original premise was correct. To me this is logical, because you're obviously not "tripping" when the key is off!

Edited and linked my incorrect thought to your post. Hope it didn't confuse too many :opps:

If you really want to create some rear seat excitement switch to Kilometers per hour when on the free way and watch the fireworks begin!
