I have attached 2 pictures of the ends of the so called adapter Part # 219400271. As you can see the flat end is a male connector, and the round end is also male. My question is how in the name of all that is Spyder did anyone use this $139.00 cable to hook up a flat four trailer to their Spyder.:yikes: I really would like to know:popcorn: Is there something else I need to purchase:dontknow:

as you can see you can not mate the round male of the cable to the round male of the spyder...:ani29: hangin by a thread here trying to figure out how John got this to work..

I would appreciate any and all help with this...Thanks

Dealer can sell you the cable from the bike to the trailer. Comes with the end that plugs into the bike and a BRP goofy connector on the other end .Cut off the goofy end and install the 4 pin flat connector . I didn't use the 4 pin flat , I wired the cable directly to my trailer and now sort of wish I'd split it and used 4 pin between the bike and trailer. Have to just about stand on your head to plug into the bike. Now the next problem since doing it the way I did is to find some way of protecting the plug from weather when unplugged from the bike.

Cable runs about $125 from the dealer.

The cable you refer to is called a Trailer Tongue Harness, and is listed in the RT-622 parts list. I did use mine as the basis of an adapter, since I tow multiple trailers. The 2011 Trailer Tongue Harness works with 4-wire trailers, with no modifications except to wire it in or add a matching 4-wire connector. I protect the plug on my RT-622 by slipping a ziploc bag over the connector and wrapping a rubber band around it when not in use. These go into the trailer or my glove box when I am connected.

Can you tell me part # for the trailer tongue harness, I went to the parts list for the 2011 RT-Trailer and see nothing that says Trailer Tongue Harness

Thanks AC

Hey Al,
I ordered mine directly from Can AM. I have the link in My Mods post in the section where I wired the LEDs to my golf bag carrier. Here is the link. But I think the one Scotty mentioned is maybe with the 4 wire plug already wired? I'll have to check it out, but still, if you go to the parts section at Can Am and search the electrical parts for 2011 for the trailer, you should find the one Scotty mentioned also.

Further Edit:
Here is a link to the CAN AM parts site for the one Scotty mentioned:

Thanks Scotty, I will caller the dealers around me to see if they have them

Thanks Steve, I have ordered mine through a local dealer, paying the tax was less then the shipping charge. Just to keep you up to date, both calfs still the size of football. Had an artery ultra sound yesterday, should hear something either today or tomorrow.

Being a part for a limited production vehicle aside, this plug is unlike your typical trailer plug. It is waterproof, positive locking connection, plated contacts, heat shrunk boot, etc.

texasride, all things motorcycle, for example gel seat pad motorcycle $65.00, gel seat canoe $29.00 same manufacturing company, different venders

Our trailer has a 5 pin connector. Has anyone adapted the Can Am harness to work 5 pin?

Converted a 5 wire trailer to flat 4 wire and changed the end on the Spyder harness to a flat 4 wire. Original Spyder harness was a 5 wire (I believe a left over 2010 harness), but the module in left bag area shorted out and Cowtown replaced with a newer harness. Would have preferred a 5 wire, but the 4 works. Just came off a 3 week trip to Florida pulling a Wags trailer with no problems.

We ride a 2011 RT A&C.

YES.....On a '12 RT-S. Use BRP Trailer Tongue Harness for a '10 RT..# 710 002 029 and use only 1 Brake wire and ignore Back up wire. Works great on a Bushtec and KWIK KAMP. HAPPY TRAILERING
