• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trying to decide between this 2019 RT Ltd or a 2024 year/model - advice?

I am trying to decide if I should get this 2019 RT Ltd or... spend the money on a new 2024?
I have a Ryker right now - great fun. But I need something to tour with.
I know some older Spyders have issues. Don’t know much about the 2019 year models.
Would love some feedback on the 2019 models.

Like buying any used vehicle, does the 2019 come with all of the receipts for necessary maintenance work?

How many miles has it been driven, and do the tires look good?

Have you heard it run and have you driven it?

If you can get the 2019 at a great price, don't be scared of it. Mine has 55,000 plus miles on it, so I figure it's just passed getting broken in.

The moment after you sign for that '24 Spyder, it'll lose $3000.00 in deprecation! :yikes: .... The 2019 didn't have any glaring faults that come to mind .... they might have the front sprocket wear issue .... but so may the '24 .... I have a '14 RT with 82,000 + mi. and am still quite happy with it. Your money, your call! Good luck ....Mike :thumbup:

I had a 2019 Spyder RT Limited and it was ok. However, the 2023 is a lot better. Much smoother at 80 mph. The 2019 had a vibration at high speeds.
It had a recall for the sprocket that never was fixed, since it was not worn enough.

Hell ... You can likely find a new/leftover 2022 somewhere. I agree with a new leftover 2022/2023.
 
If the 2019 is a chrome version, then it has the best-looking OEM front wheels ever put on a Spyder! I have two 2018's and have put PPA ORB wheels on both of them. Would have gone with the 2019 chrome wheels; however, they cost twice the cost of the PPA wheels.

Glad to know my vibration from about 71-73 is normal. It's odd and goes away after 74ish.
 
If you're looking at a '19, you're far better off bumping it up at least one year and get a '20 or newer. The 2020 RT was totally redesigned and it's a much more comfortable riding position. It's the same engine and transmission as the '19, there's just more creature comforts. You won't be sorry.
 
I wouldn't be afraid of the 2019, especially if it has been cared for. Spyders, like Harleys, are often purchased and then are nothing more than butt jewelry that might see 1000 miles a year. I don't know how many miles on the 2019, but I recently passed 50,000 on my 2015, and since it has been trouble-free, I plan on keeping it for a long time.

My 2014 has fewer than 60 miles to go to reach 88K and I have absolutely no intention of trading it for any kind of new Spyder.

Seems like most people want as much for a 2019 as you can get a redesigned 2020+ for. Also, since you ride a ryker, take a look at a F3L. They can be great for touring, with a little less storage than the RTL, but the position is closer to your ryker.

That depends, I picked up this 2018 with Elka shocks, 8k miles, OEM driver's backrest, and Chrome mirrors added by original owner for $15.5k in January. I like the digital dash.

Wow! You did well. Most of the 2018-2019 that I have seen, people tend to want nearly as much or sometimes more than I paid for my 2021 RTL. But I must admit that I got a steal. I have owned mine for 18 months now and still have only seen one 2020+ at the price that I paid for mine with 460 miles.
