• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Got stuck the other day when neither of my keys would fit into the ignition. After 20 minutes in the ridiculously hit sun, I used a screwdriver handle to tap it in and move the tumblers. WD-40 didn't help. Brute force ftw.

Never heard of that...did anyone mess with your bike when you weren't around...meaning, did someone try to start your bike with a 'bump' like key system or some other form of lock-pick? Many may not know about the needed chip to start the bike.

There is no other good reason for this...

Maybe someone put a few drops of crazy glue in your ignition nojoke

that's why I put an talon motorcycle alarm with perimitter sensor on to keep people off of it and from messing with it,works really good.:2thumbs:

That won't help if someone sticks something in your ignition...it doesn't make the bike bite...

Sad fact these days is that since all vehicles have alarms, very few people do anything when they hear one go off.

Alarms that disengage the electrical system are what you want...lots of noise doesn't do much, unfortunately.

I don't think anyone messed with his ignition. I have had my key either stick a bit or not want to go in the ignition before. It took some playing with and then it worked. Sometimes it was just moving the handlebars to get it to work, almost like there was some type of lock or something.

Exactly, Deb!

FYI, I do have a Talon alarm. Haven't used it since last year. Not pleased with it and also not particularly worried about people messing with my bike.

This is an interesting issue...haven't heard of a proper key not going into the keyhole unless there is a lock mechanism problem.

Deb, I don't see how turning the wheel will do anything to get the key in...usually, this helps when the wheel is locked but the key is already in the ignition.

I haven't had this problem, but if I did, I'd be quite perplexed....hmmmm...

Not an alarm or security device, but more of a camoflage approach. Posted photo before, but I use a small round magnet attached to a spider web medallion that fits in the ignition hole and just catches the metal plate enough to hold it in place. It hides the ignition and keeps would be trouble makers from tampering with it. We all know that real thieves will outwit anything. Been using it whenever I park the Spyder for a year now and haven't lost it yet.

I can't explain it, I'm just telling you how it seems to happen. It has never taken me 20 minutes but when the key doesn't want to go in or come out just right, it can be frustrating. Why turning the steering column helps, I have no idea, it just does. I have had a similar problem in cars as well, turn the steering wheel a bit and the key goes right in or comes right out.
