I'm looking at the full BRP kit sitting in my Amazon cart right now.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I think the BRP dealers are likely obligated under contract to sell these things at MSRP when performing a service? Perhaps the dealer isn't completely to blame here.
Regarding Amazon and Partzilla, who knows what price they get the oil change kits from BRP? I suspect they aren't selling them at full retail MSRP either, their margins are probably thinner but their volumes are higher.
My dealer did warn me when buying my new Spyder this year that the first 3,000 mile service was going to be about $600. This was relatively normal for my Triumph and BMW motorcycles at their first services too.
My Range Rover dealer charges me about $350 for an oil change between actual service intervals, and I suspect their actual labor time is a bit less than BRP's as it's not a dry sump engine and therefore less hassle, it just takes a bit more oil.
Of course, if the dealer does everything they say they should do at that first service it's one thing, but if they just do an oil change and call it good, that's another thing entirely.
