Uses for the " push to talk" button - can something be hooked up to it?

A friend of mine has the use of his left hand/arm ( not the right at all) He rydes just fine!!!! We are trying to set up communications between him ( as road cap) and me ( as sweep). Tapping a comm system is not an option. He has a 2020 RT. Can something be hooked into the PTT button to activate a Sena like system. I can call his phone( when mounted to the bars) easily with my Sena and phone ( provided there is a cell service.) But his phone will only talk to the speakers on his bike and he can't talk to me. He has no speakers in his helmet. I was thinking of bluetooth ear buds with built in a microphone to comm with his phone???
We are not going to get new comm systems. Any thoughts???
