• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Utopia Lock Nut

I found that the Utopia backrest always seemed to need adjusting. To stop this, I rummaged through my collection of nuts and bolts and found this wing nut. I can now lock the Utopia in position but can easily reposition it depending on how much clothing I'm wearing (hot vs cold weather) or how I happen to be feeling on any given day.

Not sure why this problem, In over a year of heavy ryding I never experienced this issue with my backrest

LOL, Hal, that's because you live in Flarda and the weather is basically the same year round. Hence, no need to change clothing.

My allen screw/bolt was loose enough to adjust with my fingers. If a hex key was needed to adjust it every time, I don't think the locknut would have been necessary. If I didn't need to adjust it, a plain old lock nut would have sufficed. I just wanted to be able to adjust it without getting the toolbox out.

that may well be, but I can tell you one other item about the utopia backrest.. If you run into the side of hiding trailer truck and are thrown back again the backrest hard, it will bend over but IMPORTANTLY It WILL Help keep u from being thrown from the bike

When I installed my first Utopia on my Goldwing in 2002, it came with a lock nut. I noticed when Bob sent my saddle back to me with the new Utopia installed, it did not. Haven't noticed a need for one yet...
