Bob, you forgot your underwear!
No modification casn void an entire warranty, under US law (Magnusen-Moss Warranty Act). Any mod can void a portion of the warranty if it can be shown that the mod was a cause of, aggravated, or was related to a specific failure.
Commando...Rumor has it he just turns his inside out. :yikes::yikes::yikes:
:agree: Sad part is, "THEY" rarely "EVER" have to actually "PROVE" anything:shocked:
Most cases I've seen, it comes down to your relationship with your dealer and if they will go to bat with the manufacturer for you over a particular issue.
Can anyone on this forum actually say, from 1st hand experience, where BRP had "PROVED" anything that caused a failure:dontknow:
Most cases I've seen, the dealer commincates with the manufacturer what they think caused the issue and asks for it to be covered, and the manufacturer either agrees or disagrees and then, in the cases where they disagree & the manufacturer denies a claim, that's where you see all these threads posted about BRP NOT standing behind their product. In my 2 years on this forum, I can't recall anyone (besides maybe doc) that had a subjective issue actually proven out to say definatively one way or the other.
If I'm wrong here, please speak up, but one caveat, your mothers stepsitters babysitter doesn't count as 1st hand experience:lecturef_smilie:

Thats why I pull the RT622, cuz it can carry 622 more pairs of underwear, just be concerned when I show up without it:yikes:
EEWWWWWW....:shocked:Commando...![]()
:agree: The dealer is probably the first one you should ask about a proposed mod. If they say it is OK, you shouldn't have any warranty issues, since they process the warranty work. Some dealers are against all mods, and play the "void your warrnty" card, and some accept them as normal.. It is good to know which type your dealer is...up front. If your dealer will fight for you, almost anything can be waived.
The dealer is in the unique position of spending BRP's money.
It's a relationship thing, as is the case for everything.
If you have a good relationship with the dealer
--- and ---
the dealer has a good relationship with BRP then
IMHO almost anything could be covered.
