What's the difference between F3 Ltd & F3-T? Anyone switched fm RT?

Hey everyone,
Besides the limited having 2 more speakers, a removable top case, heated grips & floorboards, are the bikes identical? Also, anybody switched from an RT to the F3?
Thanks,
Pikester

I switched from 2016 F3L to 2020 RTL this year - loving it.

We also have a 2014 RTS which I don’t like riding at all.

Thanks! Is the ride similar on both? I’ve read you set in the F3 and on the RT. I’m 6’5”, so looking for leg room.

You sit in the F3 and on the RT … true. The F3 pegs/boards can be adjusted for rider comfort and the RT is fixed … and you can add highway pegs to both. Both were comfy for me but I am a foot shorter than you and don’t know how each would fit you for comfort.

Also it makes a difference if you have a passenger and how comfortable they might be.

HI Pikester,

I just switched from an RT to an 2023 F3 LTD Special and love it. My First spyder was a 2012 RTS-SE5 and upgraded to 2014 RTS-SE6, then switched over to the F3 LTD Special.

You sit lower on the F3's. Also, they have a comfort seat( I am more stretched out on the F3 LTD Special). I am 5 FT 6 inches tall.

I don't sit on top of the gas tank, like I did when I had my 2014 RTS-SE6( Sold).

The machines are the same in engines, frames, and wheel size. I can't comment on the shocks.
The T does not have the rear case or arm rests and rear speakers that are part of the Ltd.
The F3 series has the UFit system that allows 5 settings for footpeg/floorboard fit.
The seat can be custom tailored by (Seth Lamm) to move the driver back at least an inch from the OEM setup.
I ride an F3T with Ultimate floor boards, a Seth Lamm seat, and a BajaRon Ultimate Sway bar.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! I need to find a dealership with both models in stock and go and sit on them. It sounds like they both are great, I just need to figure out which one fits me best. Ride safe, Pikester!

You have the right idea here. Ones person "best" ride may not be yours. If you can find the ones you want to test sit that can be very helpful. Note: a particular F3 may not be set up with the right handle bars and brake position that you need. Most will adjust the bike if you buy it, but probably not for testing purposes.

RT to F3

I just switched from my 2011 RT-S/SM5, after 12 years of great riding I decided to try the 2023 F3-T. It sits lower than the RT, feels smoother, I just have to get used to not reaching for the clutch. So far so good. Good luck, and Safe Riding.

You have most of the differences covered, except for the F3T has to be manually adjusted for the air bladder in the rear. While the F3L has the pump and does it for you.
I went from a 2014 RT to a 2016 F3T. The F3 series gives you more leg room and is more nimble. As others have said, you sit more in it, and not on it. I currently also have a 2021 RTL. I like to think that it is a combination of the older RT and the F3L. It handles better than the older RT, but does not handle quite as good as the F3 series. But it is more comfortable for the passenger than either of the other models.

My F3 LTD Special has the automatic air ride. I don't have to add air or adjust the load.

I had to adjust the load on my RT.

Haze, can the top case be added to the 2020 & newer F3-T?
Thanks,

Sorry I can't answer that question. My experience is with 2017 & 2016 F3Ts.
I added LaMonster IPS Rear racks and HF Apache 4800 cases to both bikes. Wish I had a picture of this setup.
Works very well for me.
BTW, the OEM rear sprocket on the F3T is larger than the OEM sprocket on the RT & F3L.

Beginning in 2019, the F3T's came with the 79t rear pulley. Prior to that, they were 89t.

I believe that you can add the top case to them using the U-Fit system. I have a 2016 F3 Limited Special Series. I added a Givi box to mine, mounted to a luggage rack. Keep in mind that the 2016 f3L did not come with the top box as an option, but it could be added later. But using the givi box was a lot cheaper option, and it was larger (54L vs 47L).

I decided to mount the rear rack from Lamonster and a 60L bag. Just ordered the rack yesterday, but I already have the bag mounted on the back seat. It’s currently set up as a 45L bag, but can convert to a 60L in a few seconds.

blacklightning,

I have a 2023 F3 LTD Special Series, it came with a case( which I can remove if needed) and a top rack.

I just went from a 2015 St-Limited to 22 F3 Limited, all I can say is oh my god how I love this machine. I 5'8" 325lbs and I am absolutely comfortable on this new. BRP need some work on their Nav system though highly disappointed when trying to get it to work. All I can say is PEDAL BOX!!!!!

I'm looking at going from a 2019 F3S to a new(er) F3L or F3T next year. Leaning to the T as I have a Lamonster Packrack/top case to install from my F3S. Don't need weak heated grips or rear speakers. Being a 100% solo rider, I can add the air to the rear shock. I can also transfer a bunch of add ons from my S to the T. If a nice deal comes along for a LTD, I might be convinced :)
