• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which hitch design is better-on the swing arm like BRP or frame like aftermarket?

BRP's swing-arm-mounted hitches make sense to me but of course they don't make them for the regular F3. It seems like all the aftermarket ones are frame mounted. If I was to have one designed and fabricated, which style would be better?

Hitch

Bushtec just made one for the F3. Mechanically, frame mount is better. That said, SpyderAnn has close to 100 000 miles on her swing arm OEM hitch, pulling her 622 trailer. Still works great!

New2016 F3T

Take a look @ new lineup & see what BRP did. Aftermarket builds ,function but may miss small important engineering things. & as well enginerred as the spyder is, you may not wanna mess with that.

As stated in another post my F3 is at Bushtec being used to proto type a hitch for the F3 which will be a swing arm mount. They are in the process of proving concept and should know something next week.

Tough one..!!

strickly from a ryde behind perspective...watching the ball on a swingarm mount is like following the bouncing ball in a sing along. Yet the tail section, light etc, is smooth and level. Must be less stressful on the whole hitch connection if frame mounted...:dontknow:

Ah, interesting... the Bushtec hitches I saw for the RS were frame mount so I figured the F3 one will be also.

I am guessing our "rear bumper" mounts on the swing arm are not strong enough to have a trailer hitch mounted to them (something similar in shape to the fender holder/"bumper" but with a ball on it)?

If they are strong enough, that would make for an easy mounting option... I am sure reinforcing them would void the warranty, but would it be safe to do it (after warranty expires of course)?

Any input from you guys?
