Your Weather News @ January 2026 Edition

Currently in the desert; 70°F, 4 MPH breeze, humidity at 18%, mostly sunny, with some high, thin, cirrus clouds. The high today will be 74° and the overnight low will be 46°. Still no rain in the forecast. Stay safe..... Jim

Monday morning and the temperatures are terrible, currently overcast sky at 19°F.
That is the high for today. Got a little bit of snow early this morning. Should Not be
a problem for people going to work. Just need to be a little patient and take it easy.
Most of the Indiana drivers are finally figuring out how to handle winter snow. Leave
early and watch out for the crazy drivers.

This is the time I really don't need to drive anywhere, just stay put and enjoy the Day.
Welcome to the life of retirement!! Great filling for me and my family. Remember to
check on friends and family.

High for today is going to be about 18°F.
The temperatures are going down to 9°F at midnight.
The wind chill factor is going to make it 10°F colder.
Definitely going to be a 'Bone Cold' day.
If you have to go outside please dress warm.

Maybe get some snow showers later today 🤔
Not sure if any of you enjoyed this weekend Football
games. I enjoyed watching a couple of the games.
I am going to root for Denver all the way. Time will tell
on how this works.

A little sidebar for the State of Indiana. Indiana University will play
Miami U in the College Football Showdown. Game is scheduled
for around 8pm est. Today. Praying for a good fair game.
Only bad news is that the Game is on Cable TV.
Well enjoy your Day and be Healthy.

At the moment it's minus 5°F with a windchill of minus 26°F. This according to my Davis weather station.

Today's high temp? Gonna warm up to 6°F.

Our poor doggos had problems this morning getting their business done. Sniffing takes priority and their feet suffer as a result.

Well, yesterday's Championship College Football Game goes to the State of Indiana. Definitely to 'IU', Indiana University of Bloomington, IN.
Final 27 - 21.

Enough said about that.

Now on with my local weather news from Indiana. Currently, we have a cloudy sky at 5°F with a wind chill of -2°F. Just a little dusting of snow on the ground here.

Today's high will be only 23°F with some sunshine. It will look great but will still be cold. Low at 19°F and no new snow here.

I hope you are doing well folks. We are still staying indoors waiting for some warmer temperatures. The wife made another of her 'crock pot' meals on Sunday. Always a good option.

Have a Happy Day and enjoy your Time. Till Next Time my Spyder Friends. (y)

Gotta get some dog boots! They are a necessary high-fashion statement here in the summer.

Years ago, I tried using two different types of dog boots for our beloved dachshund 💕💕, Bosco, God rest her soul, she lived to be 18. A cheapy pair and an expensive pair. She wasn't with it and fought me tooth and nail while I tried to put them on her feet, took WAY too long to get them on her and once on, she kicked them off in seconds. I returned them for a refund, both pairs.

What I found to be the best was a paw balm called Mushers Secret. It helps but with bare paws in snow and below zero temps, it can only do so much. What it does, mostly, is to keep the snow from sticking to paws. Sticking snow melts and then their paws freeze and they need to be rescued once they refuse to walk. This morning, minus 5°F again, but the doggos didn't do any sniffing, took care of business, and back in the warm house to lay by the woodstove.

Got to watch most of the championship game on YouTube last night. It took some doing because they scramble or eliminate the signal every 10-15 minutes. Then I needed to do a search to find a new feed. But not much else to do while enjoying the evening. It was a good game.

Currently here in the desert: 67 degrees, wind at 3 MPH. humidity at 23%, and no clouds in sight. The high today will be a comfortable 75. It looks like we'll get some rain and cool temperatures for Friday and Saturday. Just in time to spoil my weekend gatherings of motorheads! Looks like time to get the crock pot back out. Stay safe..... Jim

Well, here in Vermont, starting on Wednesday is when the pattern becomes a bit more active with light snow followed by a dangerous Arctic outbreak into this weekend. Multiple rounds of snow through Wednesday will create challenging travel, and an extreme cold pattern with wind chill of -20° to -40° takes hold Friday night into Sunday.

Then on Tuesday there will be a gradual warming trend. The temps will continue to moderate from the extreme cold. Weak Southern winds may bring light snow chances into early next week, but coverage should remain scattered at best. A high pressure system remains anchored over the NorthEast, making precipitation difficult. Most precipitation remains very dry surface level air.

Hurry up Spring! @canamjhb, send of that warm weather to the NorthEast this week!

I am not going anywhere this weekend, I am going to hunker down!

Wednesday morning and this Arctic Air is going to be
around for a while. I'm not happy about it but it is still
Winter. They are saying that when you go outside please
dress for the conditions.

Currently overcast sky at 23°F with the wind chill makes
it feel like 12°F. Still have a very lite dusting of snow on the
ground. A 20% chance of getting some snow showers this
afternoon and into the evening.

Today's high at 27°F with clouds.
Low of 19°F and cloudy.
Come on Spring!

Be Healthy and Enjoy Your Day.

Hello Forum Friends! Thanks for looking at this post-up from Indiana.
Well yesterday's sunshine was nice and warm at 44°F. But due to the wind chill it felt like 38°F.

There was a little sliver of the moon 🌙 this morning. Currently we have mostly clear sky at 21°F and it feels like 10°F.

High today of 30°F with clouds.
Low at 5°F. No precipitation for us.

Have a Blessed Day and Stay Healthy.

Our son and his family live in the Clarksville, TN area. He was telling me about their forecast for this weekend. I just checked Weatherbug and holy cow!!!!

The World may be coming to an end for that area. Saturday 12"-14" of snow and Sunday 8"-10" of snow with temps down to 1°F.

Our adult grandsons also live down there and have sent pics of what the grocery stores look like with everyone prepping for the End of Days.

Well, here in Vermont, they are forecasting snow squalls and Arctic Cold air this weekend. Friday could start with a few mountain snow showers, but once again by later Friday morning and into Friday afternoon, we'll need to watch for possible snow squalls, As before, snow squalls produce quick, heavy bursts of snow, reducing visibility and coating roadways. Snow begins to taper Friday evening as the skies clear. Those clear skies will allow temps to fall off the proverbial cliff!

Then on Saturday morning, temps will range from -10° to -20°F for most of Vermont, with a wind chill factor of between -20° to -30°. High temps on Saturday afternoon will only reach the single digits on either side of zero.

The cold air will stick around for Sunday. Highs will remain in the single digits, with a wind chill still below zero. Sunday morning wind chill will range from around -10° to -20°F with localized colder spots. The temps will start to climb slightly at the start of next week, but remain below average.

Heading into next week, they are watching another snowy system. They are saying models are coming into better agreement on the snow accumulation beginning Sunday night and continuing into Monday. I am not sure how much snow we will get from this system.

The current temp is 31°F & Cloudy.

Deanna

Meanwhile, here in the desert: 68 degrees, wind is calm, humidity at 25%, sunny blue skies. The high today will be 73. The rain previously forecast for Friday and Saturday is now looking like it won't happen. Chances have diminished to less than 10%. But it will cool down and become a bit cloudy for a couple of days. Stay safe and warm..... Jim

Finally Friday and not looking good for now. Currently cloudy sky at 12°F and the wind chill is -1°F.

High today of only 13°F and cloudy sky. Low at 0°F. No snow here till Saturday afternoon.

Weather News People are saying that we might get 5" - 7" of Snow by Sunday morning. Some areas to the South are scheduled for freezing rain and ice. Don't like that for anyone.

Be Healthy and Enjoy your Day.

Do you even want to know?

You do?

At the moment here, Minus 15°F and the wind is blowing at 15mph, which takes the wind chill down to minus 35°F.

Bundle up baby! Layers are the key.

The doggos didn't waste any time sniffing around this morn. Got their business done and got back into the warm house and lay by the woodstove.

I was a bit worried this morn because last night, right before bedtime, I took 'em out and they went bananas chasing something in our fenced in back yard. Turned out to be a HUGE racoon and the dogs treed it.

I was worried that the dogs would spend too much time looking for the 'coon this morning while their feet froze - they didn't!

Mostly cloudy here in the desert. According to my neighbor there was a very slight drizzle just before dawn this morning. I was (as usual) unaware of what happens at that time of day (night?). The weather forecasters (liars) are now saying we will get light rain this afternoon (50% chance). Currently we're at 64 degrees and the high today will be 67. Humidity is 52% and the wind is 5 MPH. Watching the big winter storm that is affecting a large part of the country. Sending warm thoughts and prayers to y'all. Stay safe..... Jim

Here we GO in Vermont! They are forecasting Dangerously Cold conditions tonight with heavy snow looming Sunday.

An Extremely potent cold front has moved through bringing with it Arctic air with dangerously cold conditions taking hold tonight and continuing into Saturday. A major Winter storm will develop Sunday evening into Monday, with heavy snow impacting both the Sunday evening and Monday morning commutes. Saturday and Sunday for dangerous cold, and Monday for heavy snowfall. This will be a significant weather event for Vermont.

Tonight, Friday - Subzero, Gusty Winds, Isolated Snow showers, Extreme Cold Warning with Lows around -8 degrees, wind chill near -25. NorthWest winds 10-15 MPH, gusting up to 30 MPH. Isolated Snow showers possible, mainly during the late evening and early night time hours. They have issued an Extreme Cold Warning which is in effect until 1 PM on Saturday. Dangerously Cold wind chill factor will make any outdoor exposure hazardous.

Saturday - Subzero, Daytime highs around 1 degree, wind chill near -9 degrees. North West winds 7-9 MPH. Sunny conditions with improving visibility. The dangerous cold will persist through Saturday afternoon, making any outdoor activities risky. Wind chill will remain well below zero throughout the day.

Saturday Night temps will be -8 degrees, with a wind chill factor near -13°. Light North winds becoming calm. Partly cloudy. The extreme cold is expected to ease somewhat into Sunday as the Winter Storm Approaches.

Sunday - will be Frigid, and snow is likely in the late afternoon. The temps will be around 11 degrees, wind chill near 5 degrees. Snow is likely developing after 4 PM, mainly cloudy skies. A Winter storm will intensify Sunday evening as a Coastal low develops and moves toward New England. Heavy snow is expected to develop overnight.

Monday and Beyond - The temps will be Frigid. Mostly cloudy skies. Temps gradually moderating from the extreme cold while still remaining frigid into next week (the first week of February). They are saying this is an old fashion Winter here in the North East).

They are forecasting snow totals 8-12 inches of snow in most of Vermont.

Hurry up Spring! I hope Mother Nature is listening?!

Everyone stay safe and hang on!

I'm going to be hunkering down this weekend and some of next week.

Deanna
