• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ZUMO 660

I realize this isn't a spyder question, but instead an accessory. However, I did purchase my Zumo 660 when I purchased my spyder (2010 RT-S) It was installed by my dealership, and I have had no problems until just recently.

It seems that I may not be getting power to the Zumo when it is on my spyder. I say this because normally when I shut my spyder off, I get a message on my Zumo that it will continue to operate (or not) on battery power if I so choose. Obviously I chose no. Also my Zumo would "power up" when I would start my spyder. That is not the case now. I have to push the "on button" on the Zumo to have it start AND to push this same button to turn it off when I shut my spyder off. I also note that with any continued use, the battery loses power. Bottom line is that I don't think I'm getting power from my Zumo "holder" for lack of a better term to the Zumo itself.

Where do I start to resolve this problem please?

Being in FL I would make sure your contacts are good and clean. It should power up and down like you say with the key.

:agree: with Lamonster. Check the pins on the zumo craddle and on the zumo itself to make sure they are clean. Also, it should have a 2 amp fuse close to the power connection. Check the fuse and make sure it is not blown. Then, check the positive and negative connections where the zumo harness connects to the RT harness...

My Zumo did this same thing to me a few months ago. Without me doing anything to it, everything came back to normal by itself. I also had my rear suspension button not work, my communication system not work, my radio not work. All kinds of error codes, (check engine, check brakes, check transmition) but like I said,, it all came back by itself. I realised that I had travelled in the rain right around that time so the moral of the story IMHO,,, these rydes don't like water at all!!!! I had my dealer check everything out and he came back with to me with no error codes or nothing else wrong whatsoever. :gaah: :hun:

Whenever I get into rain I cover my 660 with a zip lock bag. They're supposed to be water proof but water seems to find its way into the junction where the unit mounts and makes contact to the electrical connectors.

Zumo 660

I have a Spyder RT - S SES 2010 Model

When I purchased mine the dealer had fitted the Zumo 600 - Ater riding home the Zumo stopped working
I checked the holder and all appeared to be OK

I noticed when the Zumo was in the holder the Main screen on the Battery indicator was on - This ment it was running on
battery power and not via the 12v Bike power (The battery indicator should not show up)

I checked the connections where the Zumo connects to the Spyder Audio system and found the Dealer had not crimped up the + & -
wires - Hence they had worked loose - I changed the power connection to a plug in type and It solved the problem

This may help or try -

PROBLEM SOLVED

Problem solved. I had my 24,000 mile service done, and apparently my tech forgot to hook up the connection. (At least that is what they admitted to). Bottom line is that the problem is fixed.

THANKS EVERYONE for your responses. All of them were good and I tried (short of taking the tupperware off) prior to taking it in this morning.

It works fine now.

Not sure why they would have unplugged that at service but glad you got it fixed.
