• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2014 RT SE6 question

I went to my local dealer to ask about a transmission filter for a 2014 RT SE6... service tech said yes the RT SE6 does have a transmission filter... but neither the service manager nor the parts department person can find a number for one on the parts fiche .. much less find a filter.. so now I am baffled..

does the 2014 SE6 have a transmission filter ??

thanks,
osm

What I know....

At cheapcyleparts.com...parts list 420440207...oil filter and cover assembly...$104.99. This is located behind the clutch cover and should be replaced at 28,000 miles. Don't know what the dealer charges for this proceedures but you will have other parts involved like gaskets o rings etc...:dontknow: wonder if it equals the old twin, cheaper but more often...

Yes, it does but it's it's called the Hydraulic Control Module (HCM) filter. In the clutch cover page of the parts manual there's part #16, oil filter cover and assembly. In the picture you can see what is the oil filter cover and the part that appears to be a metal filter with a single hole in it inside the cover. It looks sort of like an automobile automatic transmission filter. The parts manual says it's not available but I personally believe that refers to the oil filter cover but do not know for sure. OTOH I may be all wet.

BUDS Computer is necessary for transmission filter change.

How hard is it to change? Should I have the dealer do it or can someone with mechanical skills do it (a do it yourself).
Thanks,
Toby

Per the service manual it gets done at 28000 miles but when the filter is changed and the oil added it then needs to be hooked up to BUDS computer to vent the hydraulics in the HCM module. I have the BUDS so a trip to the dealer isn't necessary.
