• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Warranty Bulletins

On 5-15-2016 a thread was posted "wtf-230 miles ?" which referred to the G.P.S. (Gear Position Sensor) and Warranty Bulletin 2015-7. Is there a way to get a list of the Warranty Bulletins that pertain to the model and year of the Spyder that you have without going through a lot of hoops and about 20 different web sites?

Good Question!

That is a VERY good question that I've been wondering about for years. It would be so nice if BRP publish them all in the "Owners" section of their website, so that owners could stay up to date with Warranty Bulletins, and refer back to old ones when necessary. For some reason BRP seems to think that's not a good idea.

Like you say, it's extremely frustrating for owners to try to research them. :banghead: I don't even know if the dealers can do that, but I sure hope so. I also hope that this thread will yield some useful information on this question.

If you have a good relationship with your dealer maybe can get them specific ones for your vehicle from time to time. But in reality BRP would be morons to to make the Technical Service Bulletins publicly available. There are a lot of them. Everything from trivial to important. It's primary purpose is to educate the techs and improve the quality and satisfaction of the customers. Look back at past threads when someone posts one or about one. Some people get all bent out of shape over it. Many read it as a bad thing. If they did not know anything about it they would still be happy. Ignorance is bliss you know. If it's important they will contact you. If not that important it will be dealt with the next time it is in for service. If you do your own service. Call once a year and see if something is outstanding for your ride.

A few years ago, on a Harley forum, a guy in England had posted All of Harley's TSB's etc on his website.
Harley U.S. brought legal action and he had to remove all the info or face Huge fines.

So the only way to get information pertaining to our :spyder2: is to wait for someone to have a problem and to hope they share it on this or another forum.

Not sure that I agree that BRP's posting them a site available to owners would be moronic. Some RV manufacturers do that and it is extremely helpful for owners. The benefit for the manufacturer is that it helps to build brand loyalty and they sell more RVs

I've often asked my dealer to print me a copy of one's that they have applied on my Spyder, just because I like to keep up on what has been done to it, and I don't feel that it is necessary to waste their time by asking a bunch of questions when I can simply read the WB . With my dealer, I can be at least somewhat confident that they will keep me up-to-date. Many owners are not that fortunate.

WE have what's called a Freedom of Information Act!
So it really depends on how much you are willing to pay a lawyer to get access to the information released for public view.

Surprised the HOG community didn't chime in.

i know we have a few dealers on this site, so i would hope one of them would post something that they deem important for us to see

FOIA only applies to government information. BRP's TSB are private information from a private company. Unless you want to petition your Congress-critter for more regulations?

I would guess their dealer agreement forbids them from doing something like that. Or at the very least it would jeopardize their relationship with BRP.

The only way a dealer would probably be able to pass it on was to give it to someone they trust to put it on the Forum. That person would have to say they heard it from a reliable source. Otherwise if the dealer said something they might get in hot water with BRP. Politics be Politics :banghead::banghead:
