• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Random thought for the day

A physicist, a mathmatician, and a logician were riding on a train through Montana. They see a large flock of sheep in a field near the track.

The physicist looks out and says, "It appears all the sheep in Montana are white."

The mathematician interjects, "I beg your pardon sir... but the most you can conclude from that observation is that at least some of the sheep in Montana are white."

To which the logician replies, "I beg your pardon sir, but the most you can conclude from that observation is that at least some of the sheep in Montana are white on at least one side."

Used LESS; billed MORE!

Most likely because the generating company your power company buys the power from had some higher costs of power to deal with due to fuel costs or higher consumption rates. They may have passed the higher cost of generation on to the customers. I am a member of a Rural Electrical Cooperation, where the members own shares in the power company and get their power at cost. That is how it works. Fuel costs go up due to more expensive generation costs and we pay more. Usage and fuel costs go back down, and we pay less. My total power costs run about $100 a month year round. It varies some in Winter and in the dog days of Summer, but not very much.

I don't have Alexa, nor a talking parrot.

Watching football playoffs today I had a random thought... When the players do a short introduction and proudly say where they played while in college, do they name all the schools that paid them money, or just the one that paid them the most?

Don't know, don't have a TV, and would not watch sports if I did have one, but I would say that there are more ways that a player can be paid off than just with money. Some of the other ways may be harder to prove. Goods or services of value could be far more valuable than money.

Adds a different dimension to our age... from looking for arrow heads to HAD... 😯

Yeah, believe it or not, you can still buy the erasers like that. I've got a jar full of them out in the shop. I don't erase all that much, but I use the big, soft lead carpenter pencils a lot and they don't have erasers on them. I get out a new carpenter pencil and sharpen it, then I stick one of the arrowhead erasers from the jar on the butt end of it.

Want to think about something that can define your age? The first 3 cars I owned came from the factory without seat belts. Seat belts were not required in cars until 1968. You could still buy used cars without seat belts in them for many years after that. I put aftermarket seat belts in two that did not have them OEM. Never did put any seat belts in the 62 Chevy Twice.
