In Florida? First, it don't snow here. Second, we didn't have a TV back then, and if we had one the signal would have been coming from a town over 100 miles away that didn't even know our school existed. It might have been announced on the local AM radio station. You would only know for sure the school was closed when the bus didn't come or you drove 2 miles to the nearest neighbor who had a telephone and called.
