• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where is the OBD2 Connector on a 2023 RT?

Can anyone tell me where the OBD2 connector is located on my 2023 RT is located? I have a VSS code that pops up from time to time. I know I need an adapter for my reader.

Thanks!!!

That adapter might not work with this BUDS type communication. Hopefully it will for you. Might be better to write the codes here for those you know what they mean.

For my 2015 RTL it's under right side as facing fronk to take out plastic pc while it's open. It's a different color connector with a cap on it

VSS is stability code, not a permanent code. A wheel is going different speed than others, wheel lift, cornering too fast. It's a lightening bolt symbol that flashes when pushing spyder to limits

Try holding the mode & settings buttons down & push blinker cancel (blinker switch in middle position & push inward ) should display “active” codes , they can & do clear themselves out if error is corrected.

So, very limited success using the 6-pin to OBD2 adapters out there. Below is a link to a thread. CloverHillCrawler has some success but you can't read codes with it, anyway. Scroll down for pictures. The plug on a RT is in the same place. (last picture) On any Spyder with the 7.8" dual display - like yours - the code reader is built in. If a code goes Active and stays in, you can just go to your settings menu, scroll all the way down to Fault Codes, and read what the code is. No three-button push required. You won't be able to read a code after it clears to find out what it was, ie code history. You'll need BUDS2 for that. Even though Spyder codes look like OBD2 codes, they’re not. Don’t use Google. Spyder is not an OBD2 system. Search the forum. To really do any diagnostics, you need BUDS2.

As mentioned, if the VSS light flickers occasionally when you're out ripping it up, it's just telling you that you've had a system activation - just like the Traction Control light on your passenger vehicle. Maybe you spun the rear wheel or hit a curve too fast. If it occasionally flickers when you are starting the engine up, it's a pretty accurate sign that your battery is in poor health and it's time for a replacement.
