• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone have the Helibars from Slingmods?

Hi Everyone.

First post here, I just got a 2026 Sea to Sky Spyder and I love it. I rode motorcycles when I was young, so decades ago now, lol. I have had it 2 months or so now and gotten to know it, have about 2500 miles on it, riding highways but also very mountainous, windy, PA roads.

I have started to change some things that I needed due to a chronic bad neck and spine, also just so far some bags for the compartments and the convex mirrors.

So while riding, I have had a lot of pain in my back and neck, I have to reach too far down. I saw the Helibars on Slingmods and wondered if anyone here had added those and how you like them if you suffer chronic pain like I do? I was looking at a riser, but also feel the angle of the bars would help as well.

Thanks so much for having me!

I installed a set on my 2020 RT and love them. I also installed a set on my wife's 2021 RT, but she has very long arms , and found them to be too close for her comfort. I then replaced them with standard bars from an F3. Many riders have found F3 bars to more comfortable, and they cost a lot less than Helibars. If you go the F3 bar route, make sure they fit your Spyder, as Can Am changed the handle bar configuration in 2024.

I have the Helibars on my 2022 RTL. Love them! I have a left arm damaged in a car accident 14 years ago and none of the other bars I tried helped but the adjustability of the Helibars finally brought me comfort. I am also on the smaller side as I am 5'6". Most things are designed for people 5'10" or around there.

Thank you all for the help! I am taller, 6' 1", so that is a good point, will these be too "close"? They are a lot of money to not work out, although I am sure I could return them. I will check out the handlebars and riser you spoke of as well, as my back and neck knot up, and after an hour or 2 the ride becomes very painful, not just making it unenjoyable but more dangerous too, because I am constantly fidgeting trying to get comfortable again.

I should add that I did buy a gel pad from Heli or something like that, about 100 bucks, and while it's a little more comfortable for my lower back, I found it sits me up even higher, so my reach is worse! lol

Nothing like getting old! Although I do get discounts now sometimes when eating somewhere!

Thank you!

I dunno, I really don't mind getting older... cos it sure beats the alternative!! ;)

I've been close enough to not getting any older at all more'n enough times over the years that I now reckon I've even started to appreciate some of the (lesser) aches and pains that come with it - I can't say I actually 'like' them, it's simply a bit more of an 'appreciate that I'm still here to feel them and complain about them', rather than not being here at all thing! But it definitely does beat the alternative! 😁

So these days, I try to just...

Could you post a pic of them installed? How difficult was it and did you need to extend cables?

Not difficult to install, there is a clip that holds the wires and a wire tie that needs clipped off, but that's it. And then of course, you can add some wire ties to do cable management as desired. These are older pics as I have more gadgets now, but they show them better. Keep in mind these are adjusted for a guy of 5'6" with a moderately disabled left arm, so your setup would be different, but since there are so many angled adjustments, they are really flexible.
