Noise after Trailering

I think this started after I hauled my RT on my trailer. It is noticeable when I accelerate or turn left. I get a "ur-ur-ur" sound. It sounds like metal against metal and cycles faster the faster I am going. I jacked it up and spun the wheels. The only thing I noticed was the slight drag from the brake pads rubbing the rotor. I took it to the dealer and their Spyder guy could not find anything wrong. He says he can't hear it. He must have poor hearing as not only did I hear it, my wife did as soon as we took off. I secured the trailer with three ratchet straps - one with a d-ring dead center behind the rear wheel and the two up front to d-rings slightly inboard with respect to the wheels. It was tightly secured. Perhaps it is just a coincidence it I noticed it just after it was trailered. Could I have ratcheted it too tight and damaged something? We went on a 100 mile ride yesterday and although the noise was still evident, other than that everything was fine. Any Ideas? Thanks

I could be wrong, but I would think it would be a bit hard to ratchet the wheel rims too tight. Just my opinion though.

cotter pin

Make sure the cotter pins in the lower ball joints are not touching the rims or wheel wieghts. Just a guess.

First like billybovine mentions check the cotter pins':thumbup: How many miles on your Spyder, I would also check the rear wheel bearings,
You didn't by chance put the strap though the rear pulley instead of the wheel??

Just checked the cotter pins and they are not touching although I can see where it would be possible.. The Spyder has 4700 miles on it. I had the wheels off the gound and when I rotated them, other the the pads rubbing, I noticed nothing out of the ordinary. What's the best way to check the wheel bearing short of removing them?

Roll the Spyder back and forth By hand, and listen for a grinding and or clicking nose,
But if you have only 4700 miles' I now doubt that's your problem.:dontknow:
