While I was out for a nice drive earlier this week, I had what I call an acid attack. So, I pulled off the interstate but had to partially remove my helmet to drink out of my Camelbak bottle I carry in one of my cup holders.
So, yesterday I cruised over to a REI Store to see what there to offer as a better solution? I had done some research on line so I had some idea of what I was going to look for.
What I purchased was a Platpus Hoser Hydration System, 70oz. It was the same price as the 32oz. This thing has a hang/carry loop at the top with a long 'bite' hose.
So, I'm thinking I can secure this thing under my riding jacket and fill it part way with water. I can clip the bite end clip near my neck somewhere so I have access without removing my helmet.
Another thing I've had come up is when I go to a drive-in, I can't get a drink because I fear the lid on a drink will blow off and create a big sticky mess.
REI had some of the 750ml Camelbaks on clearance in blue. So I got two. I also bought a MSR Hydration Dromedary Spigot Cap to put on one of the Camelbaks for pouring in my soft drink. I'm thinking I can attach a short hose so that I can drink out of it w/o removing my helmet? Well, that's the plan.
On the Camelbak water bottles, I added two, one inch strips of yellow reflective tape down the
sides of them.
