• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. transporting RT?

Anyone out there moved with their RT? I have moved in the past with 2 wheelers, and they have just been loaded into the moving truck and tied down, no problems. My dealer says to have the truck come by the shop and they will drive it off the loading dock to put it on truck. Have any of you done this before? Contemplating move to another state, and I will have to drive my car (since there is only one of me, and I would be taking dogs). Advice, please!

Do you have a tow bar on the car, if you do just rent a trailer.

I would think that it wouldn't be an issue to have the movers load the Spyder on the moving truck. We have also moved motorcycles and people move cars on moving vans so if they tie it down properly it shouldn't be an issue. If that doesn't work I'd be happy to drive it for you.

moving spyder

I had looked at a motorcycle transport to move the RS/GS from Georgia to MN. When they gave me the quote it was almost double what I paid to have a 2-wheel bike shipped. Their explanation was width of two bikes so twice the price. I found that some U-Haul facility's have 7 foot wide covered trailers although a 6 foot wide will work for the RS. They would not rent an open trailer one-way. I would be uncomfortable with a moving van/company. Had one move that took almost 4 weeks from Seattle to MN. Seems that they wanted a full truck so my stuff sat in their storage area until the truck was full. Not sure how they would handle moving the spyder in and out of the truck. Suggest a trailer if your car can handle the towing.

Before I moved to Fla. I agonized over how to get my RT here. It was winter so riding it was not my idea of a smart move. I talked to a towing guy with a flat bed said he could do it by putting it on his truck and backing it up to the mover then just drive it on. Then I wondered how much of a pain it would be to get it off. Luckily since I know a lot of bikers I was able to "borrow" a 7X10 featherlight. All it cost me was tires and lights for it. Plus the gas dead heading it back. Don't bother trying to rent from Uhaul. it will not fit and the one they have that will they will not rent one way.
Well hope this helps, good luck.

I had mine shipped to me from NH, where I bought it, with no problems ( other than an $800 lighter checkbook).

If it were me, I'd ship the car & ride the Spyder….

I move mine on a tilting snowmobile trailer - careful on loading as the bottom plate is low - go on the trailer at an angle and put a 2x4 at the approach to get the nose up. There is securing instruction on where to tie it down in the manual.

I do like the "ride it" option though too.

Can't do that as I have 2 large dogs that will be coming with me in the car. I discussed it with dealer, he said that I could drive it there and have truck pull up so it could be loaded from their loading dock. I am getting estimates for move now, so far have 2 and they seem to think they could drive it onto the van using their own ramps. I figure I can print off the tie down instructions from the owner's manual if I don't have it loaded at dealer. But any other ideas are welcome!

There are some very nice kennel kart trailers out there….. I saw one that had screened upper ports, so the dogs could get some "air in the face" time…..
