• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting Your Money's Worth from a Tire!

And cross ply/bias ply tires. And that's not even retreaded cross ply items. Growing up in England, lots of people used retreads on their cars as tires were expensive in the UK back then. It was good that most people who used them put them on cars that were really slow. Some people used to...

Are there really any mechanical upgrades made to 2026 RT's to account for the quieter, smoother, livelier hype?

My '21 and now '26 sound exactly the same to my ears, but I'm more than a bit deaf. There are numerous changes to the body parts and the display/wiring, but essentially everything significant is the same.

Anyone else got a Pool of Water in the Frunk? Any fixes?

It's a big square plastic lid with a rubber seal that goes around the foot wide square hole the battery mounts into. If that big square hole around the battery is there and there's no Tupperware cover it's missing. I don't know what year your Spyder is, but for a 2026 S2S the part is: Ref: 130...

Are there really any mechanical upgrades made to 2026 RT's to account for the quieter, smoother, livelier hype?

I went from a 2021 RT LTD to a 2026 Sea to Sky. The S2S bedded in quicker than the LTD, but after that the performance seems to be identical as most as I can tell. The seat is miles better and it seems smoother and less floaty, as I think the XPS branded Kendas have a better tire sidewall that...

Is there any Owner affordable BUDS?

You have to be careful with which Lithium battery you select. It has to be one design for cranking engines, not just a general purpose deep discharge Lithium marine battery for instance. Lithium batteries are fine as long the the Battery Management System (BMS) is suitable for the vehicle you...

Is there any Owner affordable BUDS?

You know, for the price of a new battery... These things can eat batteries - even when the voltage looks good, they aren't always good. I would buy a new USA Yuasa Battery from a reliable source - minimum of 350 CCA and 21 A/hr. Charge the battery fully before installing it! Keep the machine...

Having a blast, but have you noticed these Spyders Take an Effort To Ride?!

I saw a belt change video on a Ryker and I thought it was quite involved with basically hinging the Ryker in the middle, but doable for sure. I think that same activity on a Spyder would require a fundamental change in the design. The belt would have to go inline with the crankshaft as the belt...

Ratcheting down a Spyder S2S in a Cargo Trailer - what should I NOT be doing?

I strap the bike down through the wheels like you said, or the bottoms of the A arms. This way the Spyder is free to move up and down on its suspension as my trailer has a torsion bar suspension system, but the total movement is relatively small.

Spyder ride in Northern Vermont in all her glory today

The yellows are brilliant this year at 7,000 through 10,000 feet. Was up at Brighton yesterday and the colors were eye popping, yellows against the deep greens of the firs. The reds however are dull, lackluster; brown and orange-ish at 6,000 to 9,000 feet. I think the extreme heat this year...

Anybody using an aluminum frame enclosed trailer to tow their Spyder?

Mine Kendon, see above, is the Spyder specific version. It folds up the same as the bike version and the ramps all store underneath. I've had mine about 4 or 5 years and it's held up really well. Price has gone up a bit, they are about $6,000 now, so with taxes and add-ons that comes to about...

Having a blast, but have you noticed these Spyders Take an Effort To Ride?!

Except the Ryker has seemingly a relatively frequent requirement for a CVT belt change as opposed to the Spyder/Canyon's "life of the motor" transmission. If the Spyder had a CVT one would hope it was a steel belt like on a car CVT transmission. I must admit I prefer auto transmissions with 6+...

Your Weather News @ September 2026 Edition

The weather was bright and sunny today, so we donned leather jackets and did the run up to Brighton Ski Resort again, this time in the dry. Walked around Silver Lake. It was surprisingly warm. The temperature started climbing. By the time we got back down to the valley, it was nearly 90°F on...

Your Weather News @ September 2026 Edition

Rained all day. Cold and wet. Put the waterproofs on and rode up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Brighton Ski Resort at 9000+ feet. It was in the high thirties up there. I thought it might snow so I didn't linger too long and rode back down. Got home and it stopped raining. Oh well.

Just had my Spyder buffed and polished!

I suspect it might not work with my 2026 S2S and it's semi-matt white finish. I'll have to look into it and see. Yours looks really nice BTW.

300 miles in temps over 105 with low humidity ... dangerous

Sorry for the warming atmosphere distraction. My brain wanders off into the ozone sometimes. The older I get the more distracted I get. According to the CDC/NIOSH approaching 1.4 liters per hour of water can put an average size man at risk of Hyponatremia (Sodium dilution in the bloodstream) in...

Are the OEM XPS front tires really directional, on '25 S2S?

That's what I thought. But then again, this is the response I got... That's probably why the user manual isn't correct for 2026 models.

Are the OEM XPS front tires really directional, on '25 S2S?

So I wanted to get a definitive answer to this question, so I asked Can Am/BRP via the form on their website. I'm convinced they are not directional, but... Even Can Am themselves are unsure and they mount the things at the factory. However, unfortunately, this was the response I got...

Anyone made Jump Start Terminals for an F3T? Where & how do you mount terminals?

Their Amazon page for the GBC007 unit states: The GBC007 Boost X-Connect Adapter allows you to easily swap between NOCO Boost and Boost X UltraSafe Lithium Jump Starters and NOCO Genius Smart Battery Chargers. It features an 18.5-inch eyelet terminal accessory with M6 hole size, and 8AWG...

Brake pedal is firm on starting, soft after moving - dealer says it's OK! Anyone else?

Thinking of it, if they replaced the VCM I'm sure they must have put new fluid into it. Perhaps the only thing left is the ABS hydraulic modulator unit itself which is what actually controls the brake pressure in the lines, under control from the VCM? The BUDS testing should have exercised...

Brake pedal is firm on starting, soft after moving - dealer says it's OK! Anyone else?

Bled, but was it a full flush through to clear? That was the mistake I made with the Jag. I bled the air at the calipers and exercised the ABS pump but it still had tired fluid in the lines. It didn't take much to feel weird like the OP described.
