• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RS SE5 won't shift

Davinva has the SE5 thumbshifter. There is no cable, and no "feel" when you push the R button. I'd be checking the connections to the downshift solenoid, the solenoid resistance, the hydraulic pressures and the shift linkage adjustment. Better yet, let the shop guys do it.

    Hellooooo.*coughs* :D

Shewolf, I don't know where in BC you live, I live in Mission and have done a lot of time on BC logging roads. Used an old Honda XL250 dual purpose with an XR enduro sprocket and loved the convenience of not having to trailer it. I have also used a number of modified flat-fendered Willys jeeps...

Broken Rear Fender is NOT covered by BEST protection plan

I'd accept the parts, wrap them up and store them, in case you want to sell your Spyder later. That's what I did with mine. It's such a flimsy design that I don't want it on my ryde. I hung my tag from the topcase mount similarly to the way you did, Erag, but I use a length of flatbar, rather...

    BRP issues

I can't believe that satisfactory crossover bearings are not available locally. Anybody know some alternate bearing makes?

    Whatcom County Riders

Turned out to be a great ryde! Nice weather, beautiful scenery, twisty roads, good company. How can you beat that? We just needed some more ryders to make it perfect.

    OYSTER RUN

Place is called the Calico Cupboard Old Town Cafe, 720 First Street, La Conner. We meet on the morning of the Oyster Run. I guess the Seattle guys will set the time as the event gets nearer. In previous years , time of meet was 7:30 AM. I plan to be there, too.

Truck,I phoned Bluestratos in Lynden but most Sundays he has other commitments. I talked to my friend chillicp (Bruce) from Chilliwack, but his RS is in the shop waiting for wheel bearings. They gave him an RT loaner but I'm not sure what the border guards would think about that, or the dealer...

A mechanic scratched a front fender on my ryde at Greater Vancouver Power Sports and they replaced it, no questions, their dime.

    can't find a part number

Tom, I just pulled the left side plastic cover off mine and the number inside reads 705501081. The right side number is a bit different. Hope this helps,---Brian.

Taking Back fender off .......so who has done it ????

Sealerscot, you don't mention what luggage racks, if any, that you have installed. It makes a difference as you will want to protect your passenger from getting wet.My ryde has Givi side bags and topcase on an Ind7 rack and these act as a substitute fender. I used plated 1x 1/4 flatbar for the...

    Vancouver Island Spyder Ryders

I don't know how you are fixed for time, Joe, but one of my favorite (slower, more scenic) routes is to grab the ferry just north of Sidney for Saltspring Island, ride across Saltspring and catch the Vesuvius ferry to Crofton, back on Vancouver Island. Then proceed north along the Old island...

    I got stung

I used to have zippered earflaps on my 3/4 helmet. Then, just as I was entering a tunnel in the Fraser canyon, a bee got wedged into my ear and couldn't escape due to the flap. There was traffic in the tunnel and I had to listen to him buzzing furiously until I could get clear of the tunnel and...

For those that had a Fender break

The problem is actual contact with aftermarket luggage rack parts. This will occur if the rear shock is adjusted too soft, or if you hit a pothole. And yes, extra weight, of say, a passenger or luggage, will make it worse. Check the photo to see some contact marks. Later, several other...

    12 Volt Receptacle up front

Scottie's and Andy's methods are far superior, but if you want to do the quick and easy way, as I did, simply plug a longer lead into the frunk outlet, lead the wire up under the joint in the frunk seal rubber, and up through the tupperware to your Garmin. You will need to tie the end into the...

For those that had a Fender break

I noticed marks on the fender brackets where they were coming into contact with parts of my Ind 7 rack. Modified the rack a bit which reduced, but did not eliminate, this tendency. When marks to the fender paintwork appeared and other people started to experience breakages, I eliminated the...
