• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2012 RT Battery

I have a 2012 RT-S and my battery is constantly needing a charge.
I don't want to put a maintainer on it I just want to replace it.
The first question is which battery do I have and what should I replace it with?
Second question is is the battery in warranty?

good luck

if you got it with your bike at purchase or any other scenerio it's 90 days from purchase and if you buy one from the dealer its 90 days and will cost you about 210 US dollars no clams!
I know - just had the dealer replace mine, had NO choice as they were repairing other problems. I have the 2012 RT se5 AND kept it on trickle charger when not in use.:yikes:
going to invest on a lithium battery next time around.!

BEST BATTERY !

CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL INTERSTATE BATTERY DISTRIBUTOR, I HAVE USED THEM FOR YEARS, HAD A MOTORCYCLE BATTERY THAT LASTED 6 YEARS, NEVER CHARGED IT ALL WINTER ! I HAVE A 2011 RT AND WHEN THE BATTERY NEEDS REPLACING IT WILL BE WITH A INTERSTATE ! I DON'T BELIEVE IN MAINTAINERS, I USUALLY START MY VEHICLES EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS TO KEEP THE BATTERY FULL CHARGED ! ANOTHER IDEA IF YOU DON'T HAVE A HEATED STORAGE AREA, REMOVE THE BATTER AND KEEP IT INSIDE WHERE IT IS AT LEAST 45 DEG. !

2005 K12 - 28K on the clock, original battery. 2010 RT A/C 16K, 2010 RTS - 18K, original batteries. 1998 Valk - 121K, original battery. 2000 Valk - 35K, original battery. I used battery tenders - whenever I'm not riding, the bike is plugged in. That's my history - you choose.

Depends..!

I have had great results with the "Yuasa" batteries. Interstate's are good and better priced have not heard great things about the lithium ones. When properly set up most batteries will give good service...
