I think the 44 mag is too much power for most shooters... did you notice how much muzzle rose as the bullet exited the barrel.. a quick
second shot for most shooters would be well off target.......

muzzle-flip is a combination of the energy released when things go "POP!", and the design of the firearm.
Generally speaking: you want a greater amount of mass up front (A longer, heavier barrel), to help reduce flip.
Additionally; it's preferable to have the center of the bore no higher than is necessary, above the grip.

My Hand-Cannon has the center of the bore VERY close to the grip; the recoil is just a straight-back affair!
