• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

91 octanes or less

Hi guy's, ive bin using 91 octane gas in my spyder since 2008, but check this out...
Q: My manual says to run 87 Octane in my Spyder, why should I run premium with the Aerocharger?
A: The Spyder has a static compression ratio of 9:1 (despite what the literature says) and is tuned to run on lower octane fuels from the factory.

What do you guy's think...

OH boy...you just opened a huge can of opinions...

Facts, from numerous sources (I have a list of them in a thread from about a year ago but have no idea as to how to find it) show that 87 is just fine.

Now, people here will swear by 87, 89, 91, 93, whatever...

I use 87 and get about 33 mpg now with hindle, green filter, and juicebox...the bike is made for 87 and works fine with 87...

You can spend the extra money and likely get no appreciable benefits, but that's up to you...to each their own.

I think everyone's missing the point. If you have the Aerocharger turbo, run whatever THEY say. They know what the boost is.

I thought his question was about the CLAIM of STOCK compression being lower than advertised......:dontknow: and the impact of octane on that......

Well, there you go... thinking again. :D

I focused on the part with the question mark. :doorag:

Dang Harley guys. :ohyea:

actualy i was asking about the ratio disclaimed....your probably right someone is trying to sell a turbo!!!!
i find that my roadster runs better on 91, less vibrations, nicer sound and good millage

..........oooooooohhhhh, now I see, said the blind man.....

Triumph riders are always focused on the wrong thing......geesh:roflblack:

Some of us Harley guys knew that the original poster's question and answer format came from the Aerocharger website........

http://aerocharger.com/kits_canam_spyder.php

therefore, we assumed his question or 'observation' had more to do with the alleged claims of reduced compression numbers......:D
