There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Battery Tender Pigtail

Where is a good place to install this on a 2013 RTS with the battery up front? It's a pain to un-zip the trunk liner and remove the battery cover every time.

Would like to install under the seat if possible.

Thanks,

Battery Tender

I just let mine lay in the groove around the frunk and sometimes drape it over the rubber seal. Never have had any problem.

I connected it to the front connectors and let it come out through the wheel well, used a zip tie and it is easily reached and out of the way and you don't have to open anything to get to it:thumbup:

On a 13 if you want it under the seat you have to do a lot more work.

I use the power outlet in the trunk. I have a plug that attaches to the battery tender. This is much more convenient. For 2013 of 2014 Spyders move the fuse from the "6" to the "7" location to make the outlet hot when the bike is turned off.

Page 60 of the 2013 RT owner's manual spells out the information given in post #4. Works great for me.

On a 2013 RT Limited. The best an easiest way to connect is with a plug in the 12v receptacle in trunk and move the fuse or connect your battery charger leads to the aux post just under the windshield and run the wire back under the plastic to the seat area.

Depends..!

connecting to the battery and running the wire up under the seat should be fairly easy. You will need to zip tie it along the way to keep it in place. Easier is the plug in adapter. I prefer the seperate direct method. You can make a small cut in the liner and keep it in the frunk as well. Weather you raise the seat or open the frunk it is about the same.

i have a 2013 RT Limited and there was already a pigtail connector for a battery tender right behind the frunk liner. I was excited when I found it. No moving fuses and no wiring needed. it has the SEC connector already on it that mates up with the battery tender

I go along w/ sam on this one. I've got all the plastic off my base 2013 RT adding fog lights, headlight modulator, trailer wiring, and high mount brake and turn signal LEDs. I looked around at various options where to connect a battery tender. My first choice was under the seat with an SAE connector. It's most important that it be connected via a fuse somewhere. I've already added a couple of extra connectors to the battery jumper posts under the windshield and didn't really want to add another wire to them. Also running the wire to the under seat area was not straight forward in my mind, and figuring out a really good spot for it under the seat wasn't coming easy. I had already decided to add a power outlet to the frunk, so all things considered I determined the most sensible method was to use the power outlet in the frunk.

If you don't have a power outlet in the frunk already, buy a decent one like this one, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00791W8BW/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_M3T1_ST1_dp_1. The factory harness connectors will plug right on it. I had to enlarge the hole slightly. Lot less money than the BRP outlet!

I brought the exstention for the pig tail. Fished it up threw the center tab on the console . Now I can plug tender , USB adapter or cig adapter directly .
