• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Brake squeal and heavy/hard steering turning right

Hello everyone,

During the weekend whilst riding I heard brake squeal everytime I applied brakes to stop.
My actions were to search threads on this issue on SL to help rectify problem. I found info and that was to use a disc brake cleaner. I have bought disc brake cleaner and will apply this weekend (instructions of how to apply product will be noted). Just wanted to know if there are any additional tips other than disc brake cleaner?

Whilst making right turns I noticed heavy/hard steering as if I had lost power steering (low speeds). Left turns seem ok, no codes on dash screen and no loss in tyre pressures (I check my tyre pressures once a week). My actions were to search threads on SL to find out if other Spyder owners had experienced this problem and found a few threads mentioning DPS has the culprit. I will contact dealer about this issue. My question to you is there anything else I should be checking additional to tyre pressures?:dontknow:

Sometimes the squeal will come from brake pads that have glazed. Perform a couple of hard stops when you are sure no one is behind you. That will usually quiet them down if glazing was the cause.

My RSS does the squeak.

My RSS does it in reverse and and at a slow stop. I use de squeak and a couple of hard stops. It doesn't last long, but it helps a few weeks. My dealership said to use compressed air, but brake cleaner is better. Hope that helps a little.
