There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Here's my Left Turn "wobble" Fix!

It's been about a month since I replaced the faulty SAS after having installed the Steering Update Kit. My Ryker has been performing as it should, with stability control kicking in only on very tight aggressive turns. No more left turn bias, and no hint of it on the left turn to my house that always caused problems. Looks like my problem has indeed been fixed.

Great Job on the fix, and thanks for sharing your experience, DickB! I am having the same issue, no codes and wobble during left turn. I am from Northern CA and do lots of mountain twisties. I bought 2019 Ryker with 900 miles on it and have a love hate relationship with it. I replaced the rear drive shaft at 1500 miles, I have the dreaded fuel pump whine noise at 3000 miles and now the left wobble at 5400 miles. I do ride it hard but it's ridiculous having to deal with so many issues with very little miles on it. I am very handy with tools so I plan to repair myself. I ordered the noise dampening kit and the steering kit and plan to buy the buds2. I was hoping you would share the web link of where you purchased it from. Also, is your Ryker still running strong with no nanny issue. Thanks again.

This an older thread, but afraid my used 4K mile ’22 Sport has all the symptoms ya’ll have described. Beginning to think that I made a grave mistake in buying the thing because I didn’t have clue about all the potential issues these machines seem to be “blessed” with. The PO apparently didn’t have a clue either, so she didn’t address them.

First noticed the wonky LH steering issue, the second month I had it, when I rode up to the Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP), after the Helene debris was cleared off in the VA sections, to look at the fall leaf colors. The road I took up to it is pretty twisty and the thing went crazy on a number of the LH turns I entered. Being less aggressive when entering those turns seemed to help, but the tendency for it to act up was still there. And yes, I did check the rear tire pressure when I made my first stop on that ride.

I haven’t been up that way since, but it still kicks in riding locally when hitting expressway on/off ramps. A few days ago I noticed the LH turn signal not cancelling occasionally; it’s never done that before.

Really peeves me off because I was planning on riding it over to WV in a few weeks to attend a folk festival. Knowing the roads I’ll be on and the machine trying to pitch me off in every LH curve is going to make for one miserable trip. Think I’d better play it safe and take one of my 2-wheelers.

In the interim, guess I’ll start collecting parts and investing in the pricey BUDS thing to try to fix it myself. I will not be taking it back to a dealer. They couldn’t even install a fuel pump without screwing it up. I mean, how hard is it to align an arrow so it points between the two lines on the tank? I can only imagine how many trips (and the $$$) it would take for them to try and sort this cluster out.

Frustrated.

Your experience sure sounds familiar, Guy. And I agree, it's frustrating as all get out. The Steering Update Kit (part # 219800513) is around $40, it's a time consuming job but pretty basic stuff. It amounts to removing the pitman arm and swapping out the bearing assembly, you'll see that the kit includes a thin shim in addition to the bearings. BRP says '22 and up have the updated parts assembly from the factory but that's false. Mine certainly didn't, and if I remember correctly Daniel at BajaRon's told me he'd already installed the kit on a '23. You may very well need BUD's to check the sensor calibration once you've done the install, so I would go ahead and count on that and hopefully avoid any more frustration. My bike had been perfect until a couple of rides ago when all of a sudden it popped up with the wonky behavior on right hand curves. I wish to goodness I'd had the sensors checked right after I finished the job, I've called two dealers and couldn't get an appointment until June 5th. If BajaRon's has the kit in stock they can likely get it to you in a couple of days. Take a look at the install instructions here:

Good luck, you may find you'll be ready to ride before your WV trip. Keep us posted.

Sarah
