BRP Ultra Touring Windshield installation question - plastic screws?

I have the 25" ultra and put about 400 miles on my new spyder with it. A little head buffeting so I installed the deflectors and that completely eliminated the head buffeting,but the fumes and engine noise were more than I could handle. So I got out the Bandsaw and trimed the deflectors a little and that eliminated the fumes. I still get some buffeting, but I guess I can live with it.

Would be interesting to see pictures of how/where you trimmed the deflectors. Please share some pictures if possible.

I neglected to mention that I did not have the deflectors installed.

I absolutely do not have a fumes issue or buffeting as reported by others.

Again, I love my 25" ultra.

Thanks for the note, Bill. Once I uninstalled my deflectors for a test run, there were no fumes and less engine noise.

Ultra touring windshield

I installed my windshield with the plastic screws at the specified torque. No problems after 2K in 2 months. At 6' 1" I get a lot of head buffeting if I slouch at all. If I set correctly the wind hits me just under the helment and the buffeting stops. This feels good in the hot weather, not sure about this winter. I did not like the looks of deflectors and removed them for the summer. After reading these posts I may not use them this winter as planned.
