• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have noticed that some people trying to sell used items with inflated prices. I hate to see people get ripped off. So please check EBay before you purchase anything used, sometimes you can get a better price on the same item new from a reputable dealer.

The market kind of takes care of itself here. Anyone trying to sell something with a price that is too high, usually get very few if any replies. I follow used stuff and find that if the price is not marked down to about half of retail--the ad usually gets little to no action.

Heavily farkled, used bikes, are a good example. The farkles are worth 50% or less. You may have paid $1,000 for those saddle bags--but they are not usually going to sell for $750. $300 to $500 is where they are going to end up. etc. etc. etc.

I have seen a lot of ads where there were 300 looks and no replies for the sale. Heck, I offered a set of Cardo 2 communicators for less than 1/2 price and had about 320 looks and not one taker.

I'd like to think that those who participate here regularly aren't trying to rip others off. They won't last too long with that approach. I bet that some people just shop harder than others and asking prices might reflect the high price some paid by not shopping hard enough. The free market will take care of the resale price though.... Depending on the item, I bet 50 or 60 cents on the dollar is about right for used and 25 to 30% off the lowest advertised price for new items that were never installed.

Perhaps I'm just hoping that the best will find it's way out of most folks...
I think that I've seen enough in here to believe that most of us try to be careful about pricing. The item(s) for sale have value; it's a good idea to let the market set it!
