• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

deer trapped between two trees

I think it they would have backed that doe out instead of trying to push her hips thru those 2 trees the deer would have been about to get away quicker..

are you trying to say that females have bigger rear ends, and it would of worked easier doing it the other way

 That wouldn't work well at all. nojoke
They will kick and bite to defend themselves. Those fellas were playing with a hand grenade that had the pin pulled! :yikes:

They actually got her loose in about the safest way possible for ALL of them!

so what was with the other guys just standing around while the first 2 are trying to push the tree over?:dontknow:

nojoke If you get too many people around them: someone is either going to get hurt, or the deer will simply die from shock... nojoke

A "minimalist approach" is the best...

I've seen it happen:

Probably 35 years ago; we were having a huge party at my folks' place. There was a badminton net set up for the youngest kids to try out... it was set almost a ground level... and a doe that busted out of the woods at top speed got tangled up in it. :yikes:
She hit the ground: all wrapped up in the damn thing, and couldn't even get on her feet.
About six of us ran over to the poor thing...
But we made the mistake of surrounding her, and trying to hold her still while the net was cut away from her...
She just rolled her eyes back... and was gone!

Hunting isn't all about killing. These guys proved that. Good for them.

Only time I've seen something close to that was when a buck my buddy shot died between two trees. He swore that buck was still standing there looking at him. Lol

what you didn't see is that they painted the side of the deer orange, once it ran, they follow it and shot it

:yikes: I wouldn't joke about that: somebody will think that you are serious, and that ALL sportsman would act like that... :banghead:

I know that you were joking; not everybody might be as enlightened...

look bob, they figured being it got stuck in between two trees already, it might do it again. so they figured if they shot it, it wouldn't happen anymore

a friend of mine has horses... he had one jump between 2 posts ... front cleared.. hips did not... they had to back the horse out... just thought the same procedure would have worked... its obvious that that deer did not back thru those 2 trees.. ;)

It would work for deer also... :2thumbs:
IF they weren't ready for a "fight to the death"!
Horses are pretty used to us being around them: deer aren't. nojoke

Very nice...

That was great work and a kind gesture even though later down the line they may hunt this very one it does get a fighting chance ...
