• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone find al of the attention annoying at times?

I've told people "I HAVE to go" when they kept asking ???'s :(So I put my helmet on and start the motor and they get the idea.:hun: I try to find those hand outs but only have a few left. BRP are You listening?? Need more of those fold out things!!:chat: On the other hand I haven't been asked by many folks anymore. Since Spyderfest REALLY showed ALL the bikes and what can be done to them the interest here in and around Cuba has really gotten a LOT LESS!!! Will see what the trip to Co brings out tho. And there's NO WAY Teddy can get away from ANYTHING without all kinds of comments and Pics. :roflblack::roflblack:

I love talking to people about my spyder, but last weekend a lady really did upset me. I was at a stop light and she was turning and so busy looking at my bike that she almost ran over a pedestian crossing the street (with the light, I might add). Then there the guy at the gas station that backed into a passing car because he was looking at my bike, That time I just shook my head and carried on. People! got to love em.

My RT is less than a week old and I've pretty much had every neighbor come by wanting to take it for a ride (yeah, I let them)..Even the 90 year old guy next door (and he put his wife on the back while he rode). He had never rode a motorcycle before and only stalled it once...pic below

Attention?

Hi!
I've had Smurfette for nearly 2 years now, and I still get just as much attention today as I did then. I've had people pull beside me in traffic and ask questions, been followed till I stop, have had folks stick a cell phone out the car window for a picture, even got pulled over by police once so they could look at it! I gotta admit, I used to find it a bit annoying, but once I started thinking of myself as an ambassador (not only as a Spyder owner, but as a woman) , it made it a lot easier to deal with. People are curious, maybe this is the first time they've seen one in real life, instead of on a tv screen. Who knows, maybe I've helped some people become members of the Spyder family???

Well said!!

:agree:
Having owned Spyders for over four years, I am sometimes surprised that they still command so much attention. They seem so normal to us that we forget that there are still people out there that have either never seen or heard of them, or who have never seen one up close. Dealing with the curiousity and questions is part of the game...we did not expect to be able to blend into the crowd. I don't mind answering questions at the gas pump any more than I do here. Yes, it slows me down, but that is the life of a rock star. If you don't sign autographs, your fans will soon desert you. Everyone you talk to is a potential owner and a potential SpyderLover...and that's a good thing.

Why do I get the feeling that there might be a bit more to this story than you're telling right now?? :ohyea: :2thumbs:
Does Teddy get asked the same thing? :roflblack:

More importantly Dave, what was your answer...

Personally though, I don't mind the attention. It means people see me. If they see me in a parking lot, they see me I the road.
Teddy has had more offers than I care to admit, WAY MORE THAN ME:roflblack:that's for sure:opps: and I was taught that its not polite to "Kiss & Tell":rolleyes: Oh what a tangled web the Spyder spins :rolleyes:
