The boats are not identical - for example, the flying bridge on the one with the Evinrude engines is larger and wider than the one with the Evinrude engines. Drag in the air at speed can account for a loss in miles per gallon.
However, if you listen, carefully - nowhere do they say the boats are identical - so if there are lies, they are lies by omission.
wow you people spotted more then i did, the thing i spotted was the bow anchor on one boat, and none on the other
I have little faith in head to head tests.
I'm no boat expert, but if the yammie powered boat didn't have his trim set in the sweet spot, he would need more RPM's to go the same speed as the other boat. Thus using more fuel.
There's too many variables to insure a accurate and fair comparison.
we have a winner You are correct - I missed that - the boats are not identicalI beg to differ...they say at the start " two identical 32 foot center consol boats" still 32 gallons is a lot of difference...:yikes:
If they don't have a flybridge, then what is the correct term of art for the duplicate set of controls above the main set? They both have them, and one is bigger than the other, and, as I said, will cause additional drag.Neither boat has a fly bridge.
And at the beginning of the spot it is stated they are identical boats, although no 2 boats are ever identical.

If they don't have a flybridge, then what is the correct term of art for the duplicate set of controls above the main set? They both have them, and one is bigger than the other, and, as I said, will cause additional drag.
