• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3T led saddle bag LED's

I just received some saddle bag LED lights to replace the reflectors that are in place on the two rear compartments. I ordered these from Value accessories and they come from Trick LED. I hooked up everything as the instructions said, and the lights work fine. The problem though is it causes major interference with the radio signal. I unhooked the ground from both leds and the radio gets a clear signal. When hook the ground connections back up I get interference again and the radio just has a lot of static. I unplugged the ground connection from the leds and tried touching it to a different ground point on the bike and I still get the same condition. Has anyone else had trouble with these LEDs causing radio interference?
Unfortunately the LED's are now stuck on the saddle bag compartments, so I can't just return them. Can someone give me some suggestions on how to isolate the led's from the radio signal. I'm guessing it's something to do with the antenna picking up some frequency from the led assemblies. I'm not an electrical expert, so I need some advise regarding this issue. For now I just unhooked the led connections until I get this problem resolved. I added these same type of LED's to my RT and never had issues.

I have TricLED's saddlebag lights, too. They're not yet installed so I hope someone has a solution.

You ought to call Reggy and ask him. Although, I think he's at SpyderQuest.

I just checked, you're only 125 miles from Lake George. Take a ride and go see him. Hopefully, he'll have an answer.

Hello! Please send us email to [email protected]
I believe you need a resistor and we can send them to you.
That interference caused by extra load from the led but it should be a quick fix. Some Spyder experience that and some are not.

Since Reggy and our tech are in SpyderQuest, I want to make sure this is correct solution.
So give us a day or 2. I thank you for your patience in advance .

I did send Reggy an email regarding this issue and he got back to me about adding the resistors. I sent him my mailing address so the resistors can be sent to me. I wish I could of made to to SpyderQuest this year but due to unforeseen circumstances I wasn't able to attend.

Thanks!

Oh now I saw it. I'll send those out today. I wasn't sure if you were the same person that emailed us. Can't determine by screen name :)
