• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HOMEMADE TRAILER

Great idea for camping trips! Not the fit and finish of the nice tour trailers....but functional!

Not the fit and finish of the nice tour trailers....

Nor the cost of one.. I like it---The Spyder will bring all the attention anyway right? I may look into this, the trailer hitch will be the most expensive thing I'll bet..

Heres my homemade. Ive pulled it behind the goldwing many miles.
Its a 40 x 48 Harbor Freight trailer you can usually get on sale for $169. Then I had a custom 40 x 48 x 18 diamond plate box made ($400). That comes out to 20 cubic feet of storage. You can get a couple bodies in there if you needed to!. Ive added LED lighs all around and inside.

(Everyone I know with these, including myself, have towed these in excess of 75 mph w/no problems)

That is the Piggybacker that I have and yes, it worked great in excess of 75MPH with the 8" wheels I have on it. I was doing 70MPH or better for most of my 6200 mile trip with no issues from the Piggybacker and never needed to repack the bearings either.

Back in the early 80's, when I was riding a GL1200 Goldwing, I went to a Labor day picinic held at the Vetter Corp in Illinios. They took us throught the plant, they were starting to add Helmets and MC trailers to the Fairings and Saddlebags line. I closely looked at their trailers & hitches, all they were was a trailer frame with something that resembled a cartop carrier mounted to it. I came home and bought a 40X48 trailer kit and cartop carrier from K-Mart, put it together, built my own hitch, and dragged it all over the country. After my first trip I made one change. The trailer had a 2 leaf suspension, and no more weight than I was hauling, it bounced a little to much, so I removed one of the leaves.
