There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. How is Best Way to remove an Oeliker Clamp?

Want to pull the radiator hose to drain and replace the antifreeze but don't see how to easily remove the OEM clamp.
Don't want to start tugging on it with pliers or whatever. Any clues from those who have taken them off? If you bend the clamped end will that loosen it? I have some nice replacement clamps....just want to get the job done.

Cut it off with diagonal pliers (side cutters) or Oetiker clamp pliers. Just snip it at the raised crimp area. In a pinch, even a hacksaw blade taken to the crimp will work.

The Online manual I have indicates you Take off the coolant drain plug (Right Bottom Of Radiator) to drain system.
Why would you take off any hoses???:dontknow:

Original Poster wants to drain the antifreeze?? Theres no need to take off clamps.:dontknow:

There have been horror stories posted about attempting to remove the radiator drain plug and either it is stripped or the radiator damaged. So, to avoid that not to unusual scenario, many opt to remove the hose to drain the coolant.

Decided not to mess with the drain plug after my mechanic said he'd ruined two radiators!

Roger, I knew I could count on you for a good answer; but I don't think my false teeth would take the strain.

I like the cutter idea and have a good pair if I can reach the nubbin....its turned up on my hose, looking at it from the bottom. I know I can't reach it with a dremel, so will give it a shot with the cutter, pliers, and/or small screwdriver.

Thanks folks for all the replys.

C'mon, folks-- right tool for the right job:

You may only use these once or twice, but you won't curse your mother using it. Anything else, and your language may be inappropriate for children. :joke:
