• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is it possible that BRP Corporate records on the Sprocket Recall have not been updated?

Hello all, I am actually "posing" right now, as I have not actually bought my first Spyder, yet. I am real close and am hoping that you fine folks may be able to help me with some questions I have. I am currently looking at a 2017 F3 LTD with approx 42K miles. The owner says that the front pulley recall has been completed. However, when I pulled it up on the Can Am website, it says that it has not been done. Also, that there is a recall on the output shaft but, may not be required if the mileage is above 21xxx. I am pressing the owner to provide records but, none yet. Question - is it possible that the corporate records have not been (for whatever reason) updated? The whole maintenance records issue is a red flag for me. The bike appears to be in pristine condition and has a few "add-on's" - ie; Corbin seat (w/ rider backrest), trailer hitch, highway pegs and custom paint (dealer/PitBull supplied). The asking price is $15k. If anyone has any guidance to provide, it will be greatly appreciated.

* From how you describe things, I assume you've seen the machine first hand.
* I would suggest that you ask the seller which dealer all the recall work was done at.
* That dealer would have the records for any recall or maintenance work done by them.
* I agree about your Red Flag concerns if proof of maintenance hasn't been offered outright.
* As you've learned, you don't qualify for the output shaft recall due to mileage.
* Corporate can be sketchy on information.
* Let us all know how it works out for you.

As others have said, that’s a steep price given the year and mileage. Regarding the recalls, I’d be surprised if the VIN wasn’t recorded when the recalls were performed, especially if performed by an authorized dealer/service facility. Trust your gut. This doesn’t sound like a once in a lifetime deal to me.

In answer to your question - I don't think they are being maintained, not well at least. I have a 2017 RT LTD on its 4th drive sprocket, done under warranty and recall, and I still get letters telling me I need to have it inspected. Mind you, I am in Australia and the one thing I do know is that they can't possibly be doing much with their day given my interactions over the years. :(

Check for recalls here, too:

It's a buyer's market and options are plentiful, take your time and don't overpay. Good luck, and keep us posted.
