• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Since I'm new to the Spyder world. I believe there was a Spyder gathering at Lake George in NY in 2014. Is this an annual event, and if so, anyone know when it will be held in 2015? THANKS!!
 
Sure. It's called spyderquest. Just do a search and you'll find out all about it. It's a great event. I'll be there for its third year.

There is a Spyder Event in Sept. @ Lake George, New York, The dates are : Sept. 9th to 12th,2015. The event is called Spyderquest.

Also Check "SpyderTV.net for a video of last years event. Everyone had a great time. WOHOO Also book your hotel/motel early. Last years event there were 260 people. I will be for my 3rd year also!

SpyderQuest is off season so No crowds or bad traffic. Just great riding and scenery. Great Escape Lodge is very nice!
 
Spyderquest is the only event that we make sure to go to. It is a great cap off to the summer and it is always a great time. This will be our 3rd time as well. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
 
We are sharing Lake George with Hundreds of muscle cars. Its called the Adirondack Nationals. They have had many problems in the past with the cars and patrons blocking roads and doing burnouts. The sheriffs and state police had a Mobile command post set up across from the Battleground camp ground last year. Check out utube under Adirondack Nationals.
 
The organizing committee is well aware of this event and have taken steps to minimize it's affect on Spyderquest, like move the second host hotel further away from Lake George and ride planning to keep us many miles away. The only event this year in LG will be the dinner/cruise on Friday and I for one will be checking the car show out after disembarkation from the cruise ship. Alternate route into the steamship company are being looked at now as well as alternate transportation. See you all there.
 
Traffic in the village that weekend is terrible and you can't go anywhere without seeing burnouts and cars racing around, which isn't a bad thing if that's what you want but for somebody who is visiting from somewhere else and wants to see the village and enjoy the quiet roads it might not be the right weekend

The shops near the Lake( where the large boats are) are closed for the season, Lake George is a Tourist trap so prices are going to be expensive.

Like our ski areas here in Vermont that depend on the out-of state people that drop money in the local towns, that is where they make there $$$$ for the season....... just saying. Deanna
 
I don't remember seeing any of the cars last year from the Nationals. We were there thursday to the Sunday but I don't remember ever seeing any of the show cars around town. As for traffic...we left pretty early for the rides and I think we missed the bulk of the traffic each day.

This will be my first time at Spyderquest also. Haven't planned my ride itinerary yet, but I may be looking for someone to make the trip with, as I usually ride solo. BTW, if you're planning to go you might want to make a room reservation ASAP. Even though you cannot register for the event yet, I hear the rooms are selling out quickly.
