• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No Ground Plan Antenna

RF antenna

Have not tried on the Spyder but can offer up a tip. Get your self a piece of used coaxial cable the same size as what your new antenna will be using. Strip the rubberlike PVC coating off of it trying not to nick the braided ground shielding as you can. When you mount the base connect the bird to the antenna ground lug and run it to a frame bolt then run a ground strap to any of the frame sections that are like they would be ungrounded or not grounded well to include the engine block.

Take your time and by using crimp on terminals and a sharp pair of wire cutters or scissors the braid will separate easily going you a nice looking job at the end. I did this same operation to my 88 GW wing and almost doubled my range as it made a big ball of metal tubing into a semi respectable ground plain RF wise. it won't be an hour job though!

Look on older post how to put ground plane on.or pm me then I will call tell you how to do it? I you would like to know..
