• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Northern NY Road trip

The wife and i are planning a road trip to New York State in August. We are spending the first night in
Lake George, 2nd night in Old Forge,Tupper Lake, then west to Watertown area to visit friends. Night three in the
Malone area, then down to Saranack Lake, Lake Placid and the east to lake Champlain and then north on Rt. 9.
Looking for places that are a must to see and do, good places to eat and sleep.;););)

Sounds like a fun trip. Check out the Adirondacks in the Lake George area.

Visit Gore Mountain, White Face, there are shopping outlets in the Lake George Area, and Can- Am dealership is Arctic Adventures 2050 Route 32 Rosendale, Ulster County. (845)-658-8844. Hope this info helps!

Ride Safe! Post pictures when you can. Deanna

Stop by Alexandria Bay, Boldt's Castle is worth checking out, it's on it's own island in the St Lawrence.

Definitely Whiteface Mountain. We were up there during Americade. What a view! No matter where you go in the Adirondacks it is a great ride. There has been a good amount of road construction over the past few years and most of the roads are in good shape too.

While in the Whiteface area High Fall Gorge is a interesting stop too. http://highfallsgorge.com/ When we stopped there about 10 years ago it was a wet spring - so a lot of water - but even with this dry season it probably still has wonderful sites. http://www.rk-mass2.org/articles/Acade_gorge.pdf

It's south-west of Lake George, but I always like to do a loop around Sacandaga Lake while I am in the area (out of Hadley) as well.

Have fun!

Bob

NY attractions

If your are interested in old boats stop at the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton. Also, boat tours of the 1000 Islands from both Alexandria Bay and Clayton are good if the weather is favorable. Have a great trip. Perhaps we can ride to Valcourt together next June.

watch out for road construction in tupper lake, i was up there during americade and it seems they are putting new water and sewer lines in the whole village, other than that rt 30 is a great ride , if you get a chance and are in lake placid also take the tour of the ski jumps, they are really impressive and have a great view. otherwise anywhere in the adirondacks is awesome, just watch out for border patrol checkpoints LOL

Oh Yeah. Avoid Tupper Lake. No signs, no warning. You turn at the traffic light and blam, the whole street is gone and there's no place to turn around.

Otherwise, you might be interested in Fort Ticonderoga and Ausable Chasm. Plattsburgh Air Force Base used to have a museum. We didn't stop there. Google these for more info. Rt 73 between Lake Placid and Rt 9 is awesome. Working on bridges along the way with temporary traffic lights up, but no problems. Rt 30 is rough in some spots and Rt 9 is really rough in some spots between the Northway and Warrensburg. And on Rt 86, between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, if you like BBQ, there's the Tail of the Pup. Guess you can tell where we've been recently.

We should get together and ride.

When in lake George you should take a dinner cruise around the lake it's nice sunsets and the food is pretty good. If the weather isn't to bad humidity wise maybe we'll ride up and say hi
