• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Original "Stock" RT Windshield No Longer Available

I took my 2010 RT-S in to have the original windshield replaced, as the original had cracked on me. As it was still under warranty the dealer ordered another "stock" windshield for me, which arrived and was installed today. Half way home it becomes apparent to me that the new windshield is smaller than the original. I returned to the dealer and had them retrieve the original windshield, sure enough, the replacement was shorter and narrower than the original stock windshield. The dealer apologized and offered to re-order the correct windshield. 4 hours later they call me and tell me that the original "stock" windshield for the RT is no longer available. Really? This seems very odd to me, in the 2nd year of production they change the size of the stock windshield. Can anyone else shed any light on this?:gaah:

I would be willing to trade ya... the 2011 shield is what you must have!... it is 2 in shorter and about 2 in less in width at the top. I would have thought they would still thave carried the 2010 shield however.:spyder:

I'll trade ya too. I have a 2010 RT-S. My windshield is in good condition excepting the "love bugs" that have inundated us recently.

For taller riders (me), the 2011 windshield is useless. Might as well not have one. like the stock RS shield - not even worth space in a landfill... I'm considering ESI's old/tall + 3. I will STILL be able to see over it...

You might want to look at the windshields that are made by F4. I install one on my wifes RT and she loves it. One of the vendors on this site has them.

The dealer has offered to swop the new smaller windsheild for one off of a new RT sitting on the showroom floor which has the larger stock sheild. As always, my dealer is going the extra yard for me, gotta love that.

I also would trade a 2010 shield for a 2011. Mine is near perfect but I am short and at the lowest position I am looking at the edge of the shield. Would be nice to get it a couple inches below my vision and up would still be great.

The 2010 windshield kit P/N 219800144 is, indeed, listed as unavailable. Have your dealer try part number 705003777. That number is listed as the taller (2010) shiled in the accessories catalog. It may not be available under that number, either, since it is not listed in the BRP Online Store, but it is worth a try.
