• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Part 705501431 - Adjustment Support is loose, can anyone help me?

Is that the Belt Adjustment Support plate off the end of the Swing Arm?

If it is (& I'm pretty sure it is! See Pic 1 below) then you'll need to look into the end of the swing arm and locate the threaded rod sticking out towards the back from the axle, which is the tension/alignment adjuster; orient the plate you show above so that you can see rod thru the hole in the plate when you fit the plate onto the end of the swing arm; then tighten down the nut with an Alan keyed end that holds the plate on and pulls the tensioner/adjuster back (did you undo that nut to take the plate off, or did the nut come off during use and you've lost the nut?) If you don't have the nut, you might need to buy one, possibly even source a whole new belt tensioner/adjuster kit, and they're a bit of a pain to fit because you need to pull the entire axle tube out; fit the new tensioner/adjuster on the fixed nut side first (one end of the axle tube has the nut welded onto it); then slide the axle tube thru that swing arm across to the other swing arm until you can fit the other side new tensioner/adjuster. If you've just noticed it a little loose so took it off to check it out, but your rear wheel axle tube is still tight, the wheel is aligned properly, and your belt is still properly aligned and tensioned, you really shouldn't have done that, it's not ideal, but they can be juuust a little loose without any issue as long as all the wheeml and belt tension and alignment remains correct and the axle tube is still tight, so in that case, just put it back on and gently tighten it up again, WITHOUT MOVING THE AXLE TUBE, cos you really don't want to tighten it enough to change the wheel alignment &/or the belt alignment and tension at all.

But regardless of what you need to do in order to get that plate back where it belongs, if your axle tube is loose, the wheel is no longer aligned, &/or your belt tension or adjustment isn't correct, then once you've got the both of those tensioner/adjuster plates back on each of the swing arms and the nuts loosely tightened, you'll need to properly tension and align the belt. You really shouldn't EVER need to remove that plate or the nut from their respective swing arm, not unless you're replacing the entire swing arm assembly itself. If you remove the axle tube to take the wheel off in order to fit a new tire, simply tape those plates in place with duct tape or similar, going fore & aft from a few inches along the top of the swing arm, down over the plate, then forwards along the underside of the swing arm so that the plate cannot fall off or with any luck, move/change enough to disturb the wheel & axle alignment and the belt adjustment/tension. (See Pic 2 below)

If you feel the need to loosen the belt to get the wheel off, you can loosen the belt by backing off the nuts in those plates equally on each side, but I wouldn't! I'd suggest that using the tape as mentioned above, the smart way to get the belt off is to raise the wheel off the ground juuust a little with the belt and tensioner all still in place, still set aligned, and tensioned properly, and with those plates taped securely so they won't move/come loose/fall off; then just put outward pressure on the belt as you slowly rotate the wheel by hand, gently walking the belt off the sprocket. That way, once the belt is off, you can remove the wheel and do whatever you need to before replacing the wheel, knowing that your wheel alignment and the belt tension/adjustment hasn't changed. To put the belt back on, you simply replace the wheel & the axle tube, with the adjusters still set and taped in place from when you took the belt off, and you align the belt teeth with the teeth on the sprocket before doing the reverse of walking the belt off - you just gently walk it back on as you rotate the wheel, and you haven't messed with the wheel alignment OR the belt adjustment/tension at all because those plates and the adjusters were taped in place and couldn't move! Doing it just about any other way means you are likely to need to re-align the wheel and re-tension/adjust the belt, which is a bit of a pain.

But since you've got that plate in your hand now, you are probably going to need to do that re-align/re-tension bit this time as mentioned in the 'But regardless' para above anyway... Good Luck! (y)
