• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Done a quote today and I noticed they don't give our Spyders a ABS discount?!? Anybody else notice this? They are supposed to be making a "ticket" to see if it can be fixed. Also noticed that I didn't get the early quote discount either! Either or the insurance is cheaper than Foremost currently.

Progressive

I also did a quote with them and they are a lot cheaper than most. I will be moving my policy over.

I just did my insurance quote with them, have had them for the past 5 years. I found Alstate was about $350/ yr cheaper for the same coverage.

I like the Geico Geko, for the last 12 years, coverage and price seem to be in line and or slightly cheaper.

Some people have talked about Dairyland in surance company, I may have to get a quote. Never hurts to look around.

Good Luck

I pay less than $350/ yr with Progressive. Maybe we have different driving records.

Doesn't the word "Progressive," ring a bell or raise a red flag.
Old news, and that situation is no longer a valid description...

If you live by price alone: you'll die by price alone. nojoke
Find yourself an Insurance Broker who ALSO rides, and ask them where they have their bikes insured.
It's all about the service after the claim...

Progressive is very motorcycle-friendly and the adjustor I have dealt with knows his stuff on Spyders. Not something you can always take for granted with companies that mainly insure cars and other property - just getting a knowledgeable inspection can be an issue.

I would recommend Rider Insurance, Progressive wanted $1,000 for my '15 RTL. I believe that I'm paying less than $600 for better coverage.

New to the Spyder world......Just bought a 2016 RT-S. I used Progressive (Thats who my autos are thru)I got multi discount and motorcycle class discount. I thought it was reasonable, about $650 for the year, Have had good luck with them. :spyder2::spyder2:

Being an old fart, I saved money with my Home & Autos/Umbrella with Hartford. They don't do MCs so thru AARP I went with Foremost, later found out Geico was cheaper went with them. Later thru BlueKnight I found that Dairyland was even better. However, bundling my home & autos were not a better deal.

One issue with Dairyland, their online broker is Parker Stevens agency is manned and ran by total morons. They made a number of mistakes on the policy (even my name) and almost caused a cancellation by not getting all required info to the home office. (They do give an ABS discount). In the end I was talking with Corp and demanded that I become a "house" account, removing me from any contact with Parker Stevens.

The bottom line is that with all insurance, you should shop from time to time and I agree with others is that price alone should never be your deciding factor. Being in business for over 35 years, I have learned that you will make better choices if price is your last criteria.

Spyder Insurance

Have you checked out Geico yet? I had them when I had my '06 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic, and as the Harley was traded off, now have it on the '12 Can Am Spyder RT-SE5. No complaints.

I have had homeowner's, auto and MC insurance with Progressive for many years. Rates aside, I can tell you that when I totaled my bike, Progressive paid the impound fees in 3 days and paid me for the bike in 10 days. Also, they paid me more for the bike than I could have sold it for. Good service goes a long ways in my book.

Just an update. Progressive resolved my issue with not getting the ABS discount. Saved me another $20. Not a lot but it's better in my pocket than theirs! Give em a call, they will have to make a ticket to the underwriters if they haven't fixed the whole system yet. Enjoy!

Don't forget about asking if they cover your gear (helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, etc.). It too will need to be replaced if involved in an accident. ATGATT!!!

Don't forget to add your accessory coverage! I have been with GEICO for three years. My annual premium with the is about $900 for both my Spyders.
