• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Replaced the Battery, but still no power! Any ideas?

My Ryker 600 sat for a few weeks not on a tender and the battery died. I tried to jump it off, but that did not work. I replaced the battery with a new one that shows a charge, but still, there's no dash lights or anything. I checked all the fuses under the hood and they look good. I made sure all the cables were tight. The bike ran fine when I parked it. It is my daily commute. Any ideas?

Get out your 12v tester and start testing connections. First I'd be suspicious of fuses that look good. I've had a blown fuse before that looked good (several times) but was actually blown. If you tried jumping with a good battery and had good contacts, then your problem is upstream from the battery to the ignition.

I've said it before, often, but here it goes, again... ;)

Even brand new batteries can fail or not be up to the task, especially on these modern, extremely power hungry machines, so the first step in troubleshooting these 'inexplicable electrical type failures' like this should ALWAYS be to Load Test the battery FIRST, and since the Spyders still need to see at least 12 volts or better under cranking loads or the computers and sensors etc won't work properly, I'd suggest you probably should look for the same for your Ryker...

Only after you've confirmed that your battery does still show at least 12 volts when it's trying to crank should you move on to look for other things like those mentioned above, but given that it worked when you parked it up and left it for a few weeks and now, some time later, it shows no sign of electrical life despite being fitted with a replacement (and only apparently, until confirmed by a load test) fully charged and capable battery, I'd be awfully concerned about potential rodent damage to the wiring, or maybe your 'key' has has somehow been compromised while it was parked up and the Security System is stopping you... but you'd still normally see some signs of electrical life in that case. Still, something has to be interrupting power getting from the battery to anything else, and there's not too many things or places that can happen.

Good Luck - but do Load Test your battery FIRST!

On your battery terminals, use wrench tight not screwdriver tight... full charge, no load battery voltage for lead acid batteries is 12.6v or more; AGM batteries, 13.0v; lithium ion,13.6v to 14.4v. New batteries almost always need to be charged to bring them up to these voltages. A battery maintainer will not charge up a battery. After proper charging, a load test will tell you the health of your new battery. Good luck.

On the RT's, there is a main fuse that is behind the battery. It is a screw in place flat fuse, not a plastic plug in type. I don't know if a Ryker has that same hidden fuse or not?

Did they ever put a key on the Ryker or is it still the magnetic clip-on fob bob thingy? Maybe that thing has left the chat! And I am in favor of getting the meter out and tracing it back! And LOAD test!!!
