have a Spyder RT-S 2010 Model SES
I fitted the Utopia backrest which is excellent - The only problem is the extra weight allows the seat to drop and is a problem when filling up
also when on my trip to Germany I carried some extra luggage on the rear seat (No not her indoors/Wife)
Every time I wanted to fill up I had to remove the extra luggage again as this allowed the seat to drop
The gas strut is not strong enough to cope with the extra weight but looking under the seat I noticed another Pre-drilled hole on the other side and decided to make a prop to help keep the seat up
I used a Stainless Steel threaded rod 8mm with a 90 degree bend at the top this fixes through the hole - I used a spacer along with S/S washes and
Nuts one being a lock nut
The S/S rod is covered with S/S tube as this looks better, on the bottom is a S/S Threaded connector 8mm into this goes a 8mm bolt holding a rubber
door stop
The door stop fits into a holder on the frame - Because I used a 28mm door stop this wedges into the groove already in the seat when the Prop is not in use, It is held securely and the seat closes as before
I added some photos to try to show the results

I did consider trying to make a Fuel door in the seat but it looked to difficult and may ruin the seat, also this would allow acces to the fuel tank
the only option then would have been ty try and locate a locking fuel cap - I'm not sure one is available for the Spyder RT
Others may be able to answer that one
